A light misting of fog had begun to roll in through the early morning hours, coding everything it touched in a sprinkle of dew. Standing for a moment in the doorway of her Victorian home, Tora could almost imagine that they looked like diamonds. A smile spread across her lips as she imagined all the different possibilities, Creating wonderous fantasies that made her fingers want to reach into her bag and pull out her art book and sketch the fantasies into reality. But doing something like that would most likely make her terribly late and she instead sighed regretfully and brush her bangs from her eyes as she turned to grasp the doorknob.

"See you later Lily!" She called out to the housekeeper, distantly catching the wave of a floury hand in the kitchen giving her a wave. She smiled warmly at the sight before she shut the front door with a soft click, Lightly bouncing down the front steps and making her way onto the sidewalk as she turned in the direction of school. Hopefully, today wasn't going to be terribly eventful....

It was a brand new day, and Patty was running out of the house to get to school. She was making good time all things considered. She adjusted her slightly heavy backpack so she could be comfortable as she jogged her way to school. About halfway to her destination, she just realized that she ran out of her home without eating any breakfast, AND she forgot to get her lunch.

"Oooh...perfect". She held her head low as she slowed down a little to a casual stroll. She wasn't going to be late if she kept moving, but her attendance was the last thing on her mind right now. Her stomach let out a low gurgle in protest for how much food it didn't have right now. "Shut up stomach" Patty said nonchalantly to herself. To get her mind off of that, she observed how beautiful today was. It was the perfect weather for running, and Patty would eagerly look forward to PE today. As she kept walking, however, she ran into a curious sight: a snow white rabbit was hopping out of the hedges and onto the sidewalk. It looked at the girl with curious eyes.

"Aww, aren't you just the cutest thing?" Patty wouldn't call herself an animal person, but that didn't mean she couldn't stop to appreciate something cute when she saw it. The rabbit then hopped out into the open road to get to the other side...except a large semi-truck was heading it's way and threatening to run it over. "Oh crap!!" she shouted. Then, without thinking, she ran into the street, scooped the rabbit up into her arms, and dove to the other side of the street. The threatening truck honked its horn as it blazed past the two. Now, Patty was laying on the side walk as the adrenaline coursed through her body. "Huff...huff....you're...you're welcome, rabbit...huff".

Thoughts drifting contentedly through her as she relished in the walk to school, Tora nibbled happily on one of the orange rolls Lily had sent with her in a paper bag, enjoying the wash of flavor across her tongue from the cream cheese frosting and real slices of oranges studding the bread. They were her favorite breakfast pastry, a sweet treat from her housekeeper to help in soothing any loneliness she felt with her parents' departure the day before. It helped cheer her up immensely, even with the prospect of having yet another dinner alone that evening waiting for her. Licking traces of frosting from her fingertips, She came around the next corner and had just been reaching into the bag for a second roll when she suddenly froze, eyes widening.

"Oh no!" She breathed as she watched another girl darting out into the street in front of a quickly approaching semitruck, Her arms extending at the last moment to scoop something white from the middle of the road, Just missing getting hit herself before collapsing on the other side of the street. The horn blaring, The semi blew past without a single sign that the driver had been prepared to slow down. Heart in her throat, Tora suddenly sprinted forward towards the prone figure on the side of the road, dropping her bag to one side as she quickly got to her knees, Startlingg what she now saw was a rabbit away as she did so.

"oh my! Are you all right?" She squeaked in alarm, running her concerned gaze over the other girl as she looked for any injuries.

"Ooooogh..." Patty had to carefully undo her arms so that the rabbit could ease his way out of her grip. She carefully hoisted herself up onto her knees as she took a few deep breaths. That's when she noticed the other person hovering closer to her, the scent of oranges flooding her nostrils. It was a chore to not drool at the mouth in hunger, but Patty managed to control herself. "I'm alright. No damage done". Of course she was a little shaken up about almost dying to save the life of an animal, but she was sure that the feeling would die out later. Now, her eyes drifted down to meet with the rabbit's. "Okay you. Go on now. And don't you go running out into the streets anymore".

The rabbit's nose twitched some before hopping along into the hedges and disappearing from view. Patty pushed herself onto her feet, and finally got a good look at the girl who was concerning about her. That's when she recognized her as the girl who she would see every time she went to school. The silvery hair is what gave it away. But...she didn't actually know anything about this wispy looking person. as far as she knew, the two of them never actually talked to each other. So as Patty brushed off the dirt cumulating on her shirt, she reached down to offer the worried girl a hand.

"That's some way for me to start the morning" she chuckled nervously.

Tora watched curiously as the rabbit seemed to listen to the other girl, pink nose twitching, Before it sprinted away into the bushes. Such a reaction was strange from a wild animal, She could only assume that it was a pet that had gotten loose. Lifting her gaze from where the animal had vanished, She felt a light blush of embarrassment color her cheeks before she timidly took the offered hand, grabbing the paper bag from beside her as she pulled herself up.

"A Little too exciting for me...." She smiled timidly in response, brushing off her own knees. "i'm glad you're alright though. I'm Tora... I think I've seen you walking to school before, but I don't think we have ever talked."

"That's funny...I was thinking about the same thing" Patty said with mild curiosity. She decided to walk alongside this girl to school because why not? As they walked, the blue haired athlete decided she should try to start a conversation. "My name's Patty. What's yours, stranger?" She just had to hope her stomach didn't interrupt their conversation with its demand for food, because that might be embarrassing.

As they turned towards the direction of the school together, Tora enjoyed a warm feeling blossoming within her stomach at the idea of trying to make a friend. She wasn't always the best with social situations, ending up doing something awkward sooner or later, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't take the opportunity when one presented itself to her. "... I'm Tora." She patiently repeated, smiling kindly at Patty. "it is nice to finally make your acquaintance."

She was suddenly distracted by a gentle rumbling sound, her eyebrows knitting together with confusion as she hunted around for the source. Eventually, her gaze drifted too Patty once again, blinking quickly as she realized it was the girl's stomach. "oh! You should've told me that you were hungry!" She exclaimed, quickly reaching into the paper sack she was still carrying and pulling out one of the plump orange rolls and holding it out. "my housekeeper made this for me for breakfast, but I don't mind if you would like one. There's plenty! And you should always eat after a big shock."

The smell of citrus gently tickled Patty's nose. When she looked over and saw the orange roll, her mouth began to salivate. "Oooooh man. Thanks!" She said, quickly snatching the delicious looking morsel. "You're a life saver!"

From a distance, the rabbit was watching the two girls make their way to school. He took careful observation of the way the blue haired one quickly devoured her food in a matter of seconds. His little nose twitched in deep contemplation. Without a sound, it quickly hopped back into the bushes and made its way closer to the school.

"what can I say?" Tora laughed softly, her cheeks gently coloring with pink. "I like to help people."

Together, they made it to the school in a reasonable amount of time, despite the heart stopping adventure with the truck earlier. Tora had happily shared a few more of the orange rolls with Patty, especially after she watched how fast the girl had finished the first one, the both of them happily working through the contents of the bag. As they reached the top of the stairs to the entrance of the brick building, she threw the paper sack into the garbage can and held open the door to the interior of the school, the sound of a multitude of teenagers floating out to them in an indecipherable cacophony of sound.

Adjusting her backpack on her shoulders, Tora tilted her head slightly towards her blue haired companion. "So, Patty, what do you have for first hour? I've got math to suffer through."

"Yea..." Patty adjusted her backpack as she made her way through the large crowd of people. "I have history first thing in the morning...yay". She whipped out her cellphone to type out a message to one of her friends. "I love starting the day off with a boring lecture on days way back when" she said sarcastically. The blue haired girl doesn't even hate history, she just hates that she has to memorize a bunch of dates and listen to a monotonous teacher. Being awake in that class was neigh impossible.

As she sent her message, something jumped up and snatched her phone away. It was that rabbit from before. "Wha-?!! H-Hey!" Patty glared at the snow white bunny. Before she could make a move, it darted away out of the school. "You ungrateful rodent!! Give me my cell phone back!" she yelled as she chased it out of the school.

"History... Ew. Almost as bad as math." Tora winced sympathetically before glancing down at her watch. But she barely had time to realize that they had five minutes before class started before something white leaping towards Patty caught her attention, the same rabbit that they had encountered earlier jumping up and nimbly snatching the cell phone out of Pattty's hands and sprinting away with it. Her mouth fell open with disbelief. Was that normal behavior for rabbits?

Without hesitation, Tora sprinted after the retreating figure of her new friend, chasing after the long eared thief.

As the two gave chase to the rabbit, one brunette boy observed them getting farther away. His lips curled up into a smirk when he noticed the rabbit, and he began to casually walk in their direction.

This bunny was taking them really far away from the school. How was Patty to make it to her class on time now? "I woke up early too..." Patty bemoaned. Thankfully, keeping up with the little thief was no trouble for one of the school's best runners. She didn't even check to see if Tora was still following her because now she had the little guy cornered at the end of an alleyway. That's when she realized that she had no idea where she was. She was too concerned with the matter at hand right now, so she put that question on the back burner. "Okay, jerk! Give me my phone back or feel the wrath of my foot!"

This grimey back alley perhaps wasn't the best place to do this, but he's glad to have her alone now. The rabbit spit the phone out and looked at Patt with determined eyes. "Patty, was it?" it asked curiously.

The girl reached out quickly and took her phone back before giving it the stink eye. "You have some nerve taking my phone like that!"

"I apologize for that, but it was the only way I could talk to you without anyone else seeing" the rabbit reasoned. He stood up on his hind legs for a brief moment. "You see...what I'm about to tell you concerns the safety of your planet".

"The safety of my planet?" What was this stupid thing talking about? As she took her surroundings in and looked at the bunny again, all the lights in her head suddenly flicked on.

She shrieked

"Ahhh!!! Talking rabbit!!" Patty panicked as she gave a swift and and hardy kick right in the little guy's torso.

"Gfwoooooooo!!!" He fell onto his side and twitched a little. Now that his cheek was pressed down in what he assumed was a mixture of rain water and garbage water, it really sank in how gross this meeting spot was. He gently pushed himself back onto his feet and looked at Patty indignantly. "Why did you kick me like that?!"

"Because you're a freaky alien!" Patty kept herself in a very tense and defensive position, thinking to use the garbage can next to her as a weapon if she needed to. "Why can you talk?!"

The bunny took a deep, soothing breath. "Please...allow me the chance to explain myself. It'll make sense...I hope".
