Ooooh discussions, gotta love that. People are into something when they discuss something. That and it helps me a lot with fleshing out some of the details. c; It's not about being realistic, it's about providing a realistic ( and likable ) enviroment, it's still fantasy after all, your point is as fair as it possibly could be. In my opinion at least. There is this thing I don't like, and that's having an RP in which for example as you mentioned, warriors deflect bullets with their teeth. xD Not that I don't like extremes from time to time, but goshdarnit that's just frustrating to read. 

Oh and yes the general idea I had in mind was that of a miquelet, but me not being an expert makes it really awkward for me to actually try and explain what I have in mind.
