Ssarak Dyreackthanose --- "Nothing more than staff preparing to entertain more dignitaries" Ssarak messaged back after Annabeth entered. Unless he had overexerted himself with the use of his mageblood, he almost always communicated telepathically with her, and a few other psychomancy students, for practice. Telepathy was not particularly high cost in terms of blood, but at their level, using it for extended durations could help to build endurance. Now that Annabeth had arrived, Ssarak could more safely lift heavier weights, as she could help him in the event he dropped them. He grabbed a few extra sandbags and slung them over the pole he had been lifting, then continued to lift it as he had before. Strength in his arms was certainly important for his style of fighting, but his exercise routine neglected no part of his body. He made sure to work on muscular strength and endurance in anything from his arms and abdomen, to his legs and wings. Even his tail received some benefits from his workouts, though that was not particularly useful other than in swimming, which he had little opportunity to do since arriving at the college. Overall, his body was lean, and obviously muscular, though it had not changed a great deal since his arrival at the college. By contrast, Annabeth had gone through considerable muscular build up since they began training together, as well as gaining a slight amount of fat from her change in diet, but it was nothing that compromised her health. Her capabilities had improved proportionally with their training, though he knew she was self-conscious about some of her new features, namely her arms and calloused hands. Perhaps Ssarak was not the best judge of what humans found attractive or normal, but he felt the changes were positive ones. "I cannot say I am particularly fond of having so many of these...guests at the college, but I suppose I understand its importance. The college needs to maintain its alliances and political standing in the world, after all. What of yourself? Any exciting news in your life?" Ssarak asked telepathically. The weights he was lifting now were straining the bounds of his abilities, though he was careful not to exert himself too greatly, in case Annabeth desired to train together after her exercises, as they had many times before over the past few months.
