I finally have time to really look this over andddd.... "Suggestive poses for the moose" - guys, what do you have me doing here, really now???? I'm surprised no one's responded to the Ask Away segment so I guess I'll try to do that(?). Most of my writing occurs when I'm typing up a research paper for school and I've found that being concise has basically guaranteed my success. I want to get down to the meat and potatoes, nitty gritty or however else you want to say it. That being said, it's had an adverse effect on my "creative" writing and I forget I can "let loose" if you will and have fun with my writing. My more "creatively-inclined" friends have received lower scores on their academic papers for being "too wordy". One of them even had "too many big words" and "too creative" scrawled on his paper. "Too creative"... RP'ing can definitely help in some aspects, but the writer needs to be able to have different "modes" of writing to be more effective.
