Renegade grinned behind his mask, drinking in the floodlights around him, starting to laugh as his veins glowed gold and his eyes shone out from behind his mask. "Hey, Arthur! I'mma firin' mah--" "Finish that sentence, and I will kill you," he said, ripping the arm off of another hologram and rending it to pieces with one swing. He could practically hear the resulting smarmy grin from his partner. "You know I like it rough!" he said, turning into a projectile of white-gold light and lancing through a pair of programs, cackling as he reconstituted himself and launched a spear of light at a third target. Just before it struck, however, the entire simulation crumbled into digital fragments before their eyes, the spear of light slamming into the wall near the door, inches from Dr. Elliot's head. He barely even flinched, to his credit. Renegade groaned. "Aw, come on, Doc! I was just about to take the lead--" "Yeah, if you're not counting the three I took out when you were showing off--" "Oh, come on! How do you DO that?? I'm faster than the speed of light!" "You know, there's so much you could regret about phrasing it like that--" "If we're quite finished with your bedroom chat," said Elliot, oddly unperturbed by the blatant innuendo. Arthur sighed, removing his helmet. "All right, Dr. Elliot, we're listening. What's the interruption?" "You're going to want to put that back on," he said, indicating the helmet. "We just got a reading- a massive power spike out at Newark. It's a meta, with a rating much higher than any reading we've ever gotten, save you two. Whoever it is has a lot of weight to throw around." "Possible insight on power set?" said Arthur, knowing Logan was getting that grin he got whenever he considered trying on a new "outfit." Elliot shook his head. "We've got storm manipulation and some kinda world-healing thing, so far. Best guess is matter manipulation of some sort. We'll keep tracking it on your way out there." "Awesome. Let's go, Artie!" crowed Logan, before he collapsed into a haze of light and literally shot out the door. Arthur sighed as Elliot raised an eyebrow and spoke. "Ever heard the expression, 'don't put your dick in the crazy?'" asked the technopath. Arthur glared as he put his helmet back on. "Logan isn't crazy. He's just... differently rational," said Arthur, a tad unconvincingly. Elliot scoffed. "Is there a difference?" Arthur, now in Abaddon mode, ignored his employee and followed his partner out the door.
