I really hate how I'm shooting ideas down everytime I post T_T I'm not too familiar with the early Final Fantasy games, but normally the Dragoon archetype (I'd assume) isn't something that's unlocked from the very start. Unless you can somehow validate why your character would be proficient wielding a spear in modern Japan your character really won't be a 'fighting class' until the RP progresses a fair bit. And before anyone asks "I'm a black belt! in ***" won't be rejected outright, but will be scrutinized prior to being accepted. Regardless of what you are, your character really shouldn't have spent their entire childhood preparing to fight Shadows, and I'd assume there's a difference between Kendo practice and actually fighting for your own life in a bizarre yet familiar world. Overall, I'd be happy to see your character progress into the Dragoon archetype over time if that's what you're aiming for. But as an initial starting point I'd assume your character would be focusing on hitting his/her target rather than using flashy moves to wow the imaginary audience. Again, increased physical prowess is a trait of using two Traditional type Magatama's, so you could follow the archetype with or without parkour.
