A relatively young elf hired (with no option of refusal) as guide for group of human treasure hunters, finds a dragon instead of promised wealth and ends up as a pitiful servant (again with no option of refusal), showing her how much the world changed.

Plot takes place on continent named Alëva, that isn´t so much different from medieval Europe. In the begining there were three main races in Alëva. Immortal and decadent elves, rich and withdrawn dwarfs and powerful and fierce dragons.
Dragons in their destructive nature often attacked and burned down elven cities and elves were on the other hand killing and hunting young dragons for a sport. This resulted in full-scale war lasting almost five centuries. In the end, there was no elven town spared by the dragon´s fire and no dragon spared by an elven sword, but where cities can be rebuilt, dragons were at brink of extinction and vanished from Alëva.
Sooner than elves could recover from the war, new threat emerged from the sea- humans. Thousands of them landed on shores, claiming Alëva as their promised land, and elves couldn´t anything against it. Some of them tried to fight, but there were just too many humans and in the millennium or less humans were masters of the land and elves just an oppressed minority.
