Regan frowned softly, considering Akira for a moment. She seemed eager to prove her worth here, yet was that really her goal? She spoke of an inheritance, though she didn't seem excited for it. She continued to speak of her skill, and perhaps there was something to back up her talk after all... but even if her last comment was in jest, it spoke to her impatience. If she was even going to consider letting this girl on the team, there was a lot of work to be done. First, she would have to temper her eager attitude with patience. "The tournament will not take place today, and I won't make you show up for practice. However, if you win your place on the team, I'll be needing you to show up to at least three practices a week." Perhaps she could find someone among the first years good enough to teach the girl a bit of humility, too. That would come out in the tournament, most likely. More than that, something about this girl's attitude was grating. But what, exactly? She would have to figure that out in time... and determine whether it was something she'd have to deal with on a personal scale, or if it would have something to do with the club. She had a hunch it was Akira's attitude toward Kendo, but she'd have to consider it more carefully. "But, since you're so eager... Kasumi. Show me what Akira-kouhai's made of." A second year, who had been showing some of the first years around and answering questions and such, acknowledges and goes to put on her gear. She emerges again, shortly, prepared and with a shinai. She proceeds to their mock match court, waiting for Akira before she'd move to the standing bow location and bow, then take three steps and ready her stance, just like she might in an official tournament.
