It would have been tens of thousands of years ago. Your civilisation would not likely have formed then, but your ancestors would have been there, I believe? Living in a house next to a reddish lake would have high property value, I'm sure. If the Daemonrexa were to return to that place, they would just likely associate your civilisation with those mythological figures at first glance :).

I suppose that's fine then; though your people also wouldn't know them by their current name. Actually, I need to think of a current name for my people themselves.

And don't call it a lake, that's just insulting! It's a Sea! :D

Oh, and I think everyone would have at least heard of my nation, even if only rumours. Like, for example, all the Ralgons might know are tales of a people who live on the shores of a sea of blood.

The sea would be called オリンパスの海 (Olympus Sea), because it would house the gods and godness. My religious selection would go into more depth about your sea and your people :3

Oh, sorry for calling your pond a lake - I mean your sea a lake :D.

Don't worry about it, the Daemonrexa won't know your nation's name. It's just an indication of what they will think of whoever lives there.

Neat. My people believe that the sea is the home of the corpse of one of their Gods, who was killed in a battle with his two brothers, and from whose blood they were all born.

Interesting, the Lorenvolk have a series of massive crystalline rock formations that look vaguelly like a set of stairs for some truly massive being. They believe that their Goddess descended to the world upon it while she was creating it.

Unless anyone brings up alternate ideas, here are the Palmydian Republic's relationships with other powers.

Influence and relations:
The Dominion: Friendly
-Palmyong and the Dominion have a mutually amiable relationship. Aside from being the first nation Palmyong has formally made contact with, the natural friendliness exhibited by the Tarix-Na has promoted positive relations between the two states. While there is not much political gain in their alliance, Palmyong recognizes the Dominion’s legitimacy and happily imports Dominion goods, returning the favor with ehltaani crafts and cultural insight. It is very likely that anyone with ill-intent towards the Dominion will incur retribution from Palmyong.

The Ralgon Empire: Friendly
-Palmyong and the Empire are on good terms thanks to long-term trade between their peoples. The two powers enjoy established trade routes across the sea dividing them, and cooperate on a regular basis to enforce maritime law and stamp out piracy along these routes. Palmyong exports many cultural and artistic goods to the Empire.

Crayvenhart: Neutral
-Formal relations between Palmyong and Crayvenhart have not been established, although both are much aware of one another’s existence. Unofficial trade conducted by private parties is not unheard of, although Palmyong has not agreed to any arrangements with the Crayvens. Socially, Palmyong find their antics eccentric and slightly off-putting.

Empire of Vyrndar: Neutral
-There has been very little contact, if any, between Palmyong and Vyrndar. Scholars have studied enough about the Empire to gain a shallow insight to its political and social dynamics, but else not much is known. It has yet to be seen if the Empire will be a rival in contending the islands north of Palmyong.

Isbis: Neutral
-No contact has yet been made with this kingdom, due to its distance from Palmyong’s borders. If it was to encounter the inhabitants of the Glass Sea, it is thought that relations would prove to be good-natured and monetarily beneficial.

Yukanian Alliance:
-???

Xai Qian: Strained
-Over the course of its history, Palmyong has fought a small number of wars with Xai Qian. These have primarily been concerned with gaining or keeping territory to the south of Palmyong. Although the most recent of these ended over two hundred years ago, relations have been complicated by the nature of history between the two powers. Some within Palmyong wish to make amends, while others are unwilling to trust their southern neighbor. Palmyong ‘s southern borders are highly vigilant should hostilities flare up, but as of late, things have been greatly stagnant.

Devaldis-Spes: Neutral
-Due to its location at the extreme south of the known world, no attempt has been made to establish contact with it. However, tales concerning its social dynamics have earned praise from Palmyongese scholars.

Helcore: Unfriendly
-The aggressive tendencies of the mountain-dwelling folk rub Palmyongese the wrong way. While Helcore and Palmyong are separated by a great deal of land, the mountains’ close proximity to the Dominion are cause for concern. Many Palmydians see the mountain folk as backwards or uncultured and little distinctions are made between the clans. A few within the military, however, pass around tales of their martial feats, which is some cause to respect them.

Naqah: Friendly
-Sea-based trade between Naqah and Palmyong has contributed to a cordial attitude to the southern nation. It is content to deal with Nagah, although the political landscape of the far south has yet to gain any real attention from Palmyong. The border of Nagah is the farthest southeast most Palmyongese are willing to travel, and the trade route is carefully patrolled considering Xai Qian’s proximity.

Cosmic, could we be hostile? You could say that my nation shot at your exploration ship, thinking it was a pirate ship. My nation will always say that it was a mistake while you could say it wasn't and hate us. So you decided to be friendly with Aristo's nations instead of my nation.

Frankly, it would take more than a single Ralgon exploration ship being "randomly" attacked for supposedly being pirates. If they constantly attacked Ralgon ships though, then they would hate them -- but that would mean that the Ralgons would try to expel your faction out of the eastern seas, along with any legitimate pirates. On the other hand, if you end up hitting a Navy ship, the Ralgons would interpret it as an act of war, and then relations would rapidly go downhill.

Truth be told, the Ralgon explorers have little to do with the Ralgon government itself, even if they typically find favor with it if they come back with something good. It will take explorers repeatedly coming back with news of being attacked for the Emperor to send the Navy off to retaliate.

By the way, does your nation already have an existing grudge against Aristo's?

And is there a particular reason you wish your nation to have hostile relations with mine?

EDIT: One last thing, is your nation heavy on its navy, or its land force? The Ralgons wage naval battles primarily, and rarely venture far onto their opponent's land, instead being content to harass the coastlines during a conflict.

Point of general information, steel was incredibly pricy during the iron age. King porus gave Alexander 30 pounds of it as a gift.

Well, sorry for the inconvenience regarding the maps and all, but henceforth, Palmydia is now known as Palmyong! Her cities have been changed and the elayians are now the ehltaani. They have a new flag too.

Neutral, definitely. Would you like to have already made first contact, or would you rather wait until we've started?

Cosmic Fury said
Naqah -- NEED CURRENT RELATIONS----- Chances are that the Ralgons have conducted extensive sea-borne trade with these people. However, they haven't deemed it wise to form military relationships with them, seeing as most of their strength is centered around controlling the land through the use of land forces, rather than strong places and strong navies.

I think we'd be cordial, but my nation isn't very powerful in the ocean. I'd be relying on your ships to protect my merchants

Oh okay, but anything exposed to Daemonrexa will mutate into a hybrid between the two species. This includes animals and plants. It would be interesting to see what would happen once constant contact is established. The Daemonrexa are a cousin species to the Tarix-Na. Due to mutations eons ago, they are able to exchange DNA with other living organisms. While their own DNA has eventually stabilised after enough exchange with humans, it's not so much for other species- and Daemonrexa continues to mutate them. This is done through pheromones, particles, physical contact, consumption of their food, mental marking, with each new factor introduced hastening the process. Within weeks, a human or elf would become a Daemonrexiac.

Eek!
That's quite a powerful ability! That severely limits trade and cross-species interaction. Could it be limited to continual contact? It means that the rest of us don't need to worry quite as much

Edit: Ah, it's already limited to continual contact. I got a bit worried for a moment

It actually is already limited to continual contact. Maybe I didn't phrase myself properly. I meant that you'll need continual contact to become a Daemonrexiac. I'd say the point of no return is around 2 weeks, and within anything between a month to two, the process would be complete.

Bored, would you mind clarifying the presence of the Lorenvolk in your nation? I ask because it is unclear whether or not they are slaves, or actually citizens of your nation.

I take it you have spoken with Raptor about this? As I for one see quite a bit of issue with keeping a sentient being that is over twice your size captive.

The number of lorenvolk I have can be counted on your fingers, hence why I did not see the need in consultation. It is less than 10.
