Great game, great story. What would be wrong with turning it into an RP?

A game having a good story is different to a game having a fertile landscape for role-play.
The actual story of Shadow of the Colossus seemed very self-contained and very limited, but you could replace the single main character with a group and the main goal with something else, and it could work. It's just unlikely to tread unexplored territory in the context of the game is all.
Still, might be engaging.

That's what I was thinking, about how the entire game is supposed to be about only Wander, being alone and stuff. However, we can still take that concept but change it slightly, allowing a group of people tackle the 16 Colossi and have an ending based upon the actions the people take. There could also be intervals where the characters get driven by story events, so it wouldn't be as boring as the game got sometimes.

If this got going I'd be into it. It sounds fun. What's not to like about a group of strangers hunting giant monsters? It sounds like even if you left the story identical to the game the outcome would be totally different just because of the interpersonal drama coming from within the group.

I'm glad someone responded. Enso, I can flesh out a story and set up an OOC in the hopes that somebody else will join.

I'm not sure if Tydosius is still interested but my friend Raea (who will be making an account shortly) will definitely be joining us. If that eliminates a 1x1 I'll try and get an OOC set up tomorrow detailing all the shenanigans we're going to get up to.

So, have you ever done a play-by-post RP before? not many like it because of the lack of explosions and bright effects, but I think they're pretty fun.
