I am somewhat interested in the idea of a 'Good' god guiding the humans. After all, every god has their realm and someone has to have made the mortal realm. And how exactly does a god die? I suppose one could just get bored, up and leave to create a new realm, or grow very weak and fade if there was nobody left who believed in them, but I don't know how you'd kill a god. Maybe the god(s) who created the mortal plane comes back and gets pissed at everyone trying to kill their creations xD And give them an army of religious zealots and some angels and all of a sudden the Princes of Ruin have a large job on their hand trying to claim the mortal plain. Would also be interesting to see whether they would form alliances against each other and the mortals as a result
My view is once a god no longer has any worshipers, he pretty much loses power or dies, at least in the sense no one no longer knows about them or cares. Which alone gives them reason to get more followers. But a benevolent deity or two would indeed be interesting. Hopefully it wont take away to much of interactions/schemes between players.
Yeah, I think good Gods aren't necessary to the story; it's much more interesting with all of our Princes of Ruin running about.Though I have to say raptorman, that's an interesting Prince.EDIT: And NewSun, while I don't like the idea of having good Gods I would wholeheartedly support there being a group of humans who are dedicated to fighting the Princes of Ruin. So long as they're not like omnipresent and pervasive all across the world.
Maybe an order that still worships or follows the previous creator god.
