If you are an orpha , why are you? Her parents were diplomats killed on a return flight home from Europe. Though foul play was supposed a formal investigation was never opened. 

Bio: Claire was a sweet child growing up, forever interested in how the world worked. Neither of her parents had a large family so Claire made do with her parents and the handful of friends they brought back with them from their foreign adventures. Claire never learned how to make such acquaintances herself, her frequent moves with her parents never left much opportunity for lasting relations. None of this ever bothered Claire though, the glittering lights of Paris and the sounds of New York drowned any sadness that may have emerged. 

When Claire's parents died, she was 14. Confused embassies argued back and forth on what to do with the child. They settled on sending her away and simply forgetting her. Upon her arrival at Pemberton she had become a different person. She was quite, more timid, all firey passion dying with her parents.
