Ace and Leon were actually making good progress and some of the more cowardly slimes crawled back into the woods.

Vince however had managed to enrage the giant mother slime. She let out a loud howl and suddenly the slimes that had scurried off came back with more company. Their numbers had doubled. Perhaps, they had even tippled. The giant leader slime opened its mouth to chomp on Vince but before she could so some ballerina in a crown came prancing towards her. He was light on his feet, as if the wind itself were aiding him.

She stomped down on her children and the mother slime watched as they went splat. She would eat them all!

Her eyes turned to face Vince and she opened her mouth wide above his head. However, slimes weren't the fastest things out there and when she chomped down on what was supposed to be her meal there was nothing but air. The slime scowled before spitting a stinky green goop in Leon's and Vince's direction. It covered them from head to toe and seeped into their clothes. It was a signal, and the tiny slimes who weren't busy begone making their way towards both boys.

One jumped onto Leon's head and gobbled up his crown. However, it didn't like the taste of gold and spat it out at the boy's feet.

[b]"C'mon Harper! You have to fight back!"[/b]

The boy was rolling on the ground as slimes latched onto him. Eventually he managed to pull the clingy one off his face. He took in a gulp of air then kicked at one that was tugging on his pants. The slime flew into a nearby tree and went splat. Harper wanted to apologize but decided not too since the slime's siblings were biting his shoes. 

"Shees, you sure can scream." Suddenly there was a flicker of fire and the slimes by his feet scurried away behind a bush.

Riley gave him a grin and held out her hand. A flame danced on her palm and she looked really proud.

"Don't use up too much," he warned as he took a look at her amulet. She still had more than half but after a few seconds of keeping the flame burning, he'd notice the liquid move lower and lower. 

Riley laughed and tossed him a metal pole she had taken from the bus. "You worry too much."

She was just like his sister. Stubborn, reckless, fiery. Harper laughed and took the pole with a nod. "Thanks." The boy then spun around and made his way towards Vince and Leon. "Are you guys okay?" The moment he yelled some of the slimes turned to look at him. One leaped into the air, attempting to cling to his face. The amulet lit up and suddenly he was holding the pipe as if it were a sword. He slashed at the air and sliced the slime into half. He watched it fall to the ground and made a face.

Riley in the mean time was grinning from ear to ear at Ace. "You're really good at this!" She complemented when Ace stabbed one of the slimes and made it explode. "Man, I should have grabbed a weapon." The girl let out a low whistle as two slimes went her way. One leaped at her face but she caught it between her hands, yuck. The girl felt the heat in her finger tips and watched as the blob began to melt. It was pretty cool but it left her hands all green and sticky.

The giant blob had finished recovering and it charged towards Vince and Leon at full speed, arms of slime now outstretched. It had a score to settle and it was very hungry. Thankfully, both boys looked like they would be a good meal.
