Personality: Despite his somewhat aggressive appearance, Mateiu usually prefers to be left to his own devices rather than having to get into altercations with anything that isn't a kishin, though when he does have to fight, he does so with brutal efficiency to save time. He can he blunt, somewhat crude, and a tad sarcastic to everyone around him to include his meister [albeit to a lesser extent]. Once someone earns his trust or respect though, he'll go to surprisingly great lengths to help them.
History: Raised by his mother Marie, people often find it hard to imagine that the two are in any way related given his mother's sweet and gentle disposition as opposed to his mo apathetic one. However, he was raised by her all the same, training under her supervision until one day she decided to send him to the DWMA to become a death scythe (granted it was after much persistence on his part that he wished to enroll).

Soul Resonance: Storm breaker- The blades of Mateiu's weapon form glow bright blue as he gathers electricity (he produces it himself, however additional power can be added to the attack if he drains electricity from a source ). Upon attaining a full charge, the wielder can fire six blasts of electricity equal in power to a lightning bolt, withhold the charge for devastating melee attacks, or focus all of the voltage in one blade tip for a particularly powerful blast of lightning. It should be noted that these attacks can injure the meister as well as their opponent.
