Nation Name: Raphae Races of the Nation: Man, Celestine, Dragon Nation History: Once, Raphae was but a collection of three city-states ruled over by three individual Houses, though each worked hand and hand with one another years before the creation of Raphae as a singular nation; all in the name of vanquishing the dragon menace that bellowed in their skies. Before the Houses truly bound themselves, great battles were fought against the monsters of the lands to pave way for an uninhibited nation free to live in the peace of mind it so desired. Genocide was committed against the dragons until but two were left, hidden away in the Ornuel mountains. Both were peaceful in nature as opposed to their scaly brethren, and they did not wish to bring about the ire of countless monster hunters scouring the nation for their kin. When the smoke cleared, Zanzilith and Molkrath emerged from their caves and asked for the partnership with the men and celestines that had now declared themselves the nation of Raphae. Zanzilith offered might and muscle, while Molkrath offered knowledge. Both were a welcome sight to the leaders of the new nation, but it took many years for the two to be truly accepted among the peasantry, who suffered the most from the flames of dragons. With the threat of dragons eliminated from the hearts and minds of the Raphae people, and with an incredible brotherhood established from the preceding wars, the nation enjoyed a prosperous and peaceful time that lasts to this day. Though well guarded and stooped in the culture of military success against great enemies, the nation of Raphae remains a friendly and boisterous nation centered upon the worship of life and love, in whatever forms it comes as. Today, Raphae is known as the nation of hedonists, though the people would be hard-pressed to agree. Festivals permeate their culture, occurring on a near-weekly basis, most of which nevertheless present themselves as incredible feats of planning and size. Their crusades against the few dragons that flew in its skies were terrible and vast, despite the fragility of man and celestine against their leathery wings and scaled bodies. Nevertheless, Molkrath was sure that if he kept to himself, hidden and quiet, he might arise from the mountain to find the land uncontested. He had a plan. All dragons but the single other, Zanzilith, had been vanquished from Raphae, leaving only man and celestine to rule its lands. Molkrath emerged from hiding and brought forth something the other dragons did not think to present in their arrogance; knowledge. The dragon was a studious one, and knew that if he portrayed himself as an ally of peace, Raphae would not turn their swords against him. Both parties kept to their promises, and lived in peace from the foundation of Raphae as a true nation to today. Molkrath was given his mountain as thanks, and Molkrath tutored countless many in the ways of agriculture, carpentry, smithing, masonry, and the likes. To this day, Molkrath remains the Lord of Ornuel Citadel, and serves as a Great General in its operations. Though capable of magical feats, he does not continue to practice such things, and left the discovery of further arcane prowess to his students. He was the tutor of Archmage Helen, as well as many other mages, and serves a seat on the Raphae Grand Council.

Former student of the dragon Molkrath, Helen has since become the highest point of arcane power in Raphae, now defined as the nation's Archmage. Unfortunately for all other mages of the realm, Helen has remained an aloof and child-like character, likely a result of the experiments into immortality she performed under Molkrath's tutoring (at his behest). Ignoring the chants of many different Schools of the Arcane, Helen instead uses her prowess for entertainment purposes, catering to the crowd and other nations alike. Her only redeeming quality is her adoption of a bright-eyed apprentice, Carinna Rogald, who nevertheless progresses slowly due to her mentor's apathetic and lazy nature. Though seemingly a child, Helen is aged at 79 years, her body held in place as it was 64 years ago due to her meddling into the achievement of immortality. Outwardly satisfied with her life, Helen is secretly distraught by her choices.

Apprentice to the current Archmage, Helen, Carinna was suggested for candidacy by her peers in the Ristane School of Magic due to her high academic scores and proficiency in learning... as well as her dangerous nature. More than anything else, the scholars of the school wished only to get her out of their hair, and what better way than to throw her into the arms of Archmage Helen; it would be a long while before she graduated from her teachings. Carinna travels with Archmage Helen on her journeys, eager to learn, and continually less and less like her old self due to the fact that she must take on the more mature responsibilities Helen refuses to accept. Daughter to Commander Furine Rogald, she is expected to take on her mother's military legacy, and though not the fighting type, she greatly admires her mother and strives to live up to her expectations.

Commander of the Raphae army, and the direct leader of the Raphae Gauntlet, Furine is known as a rather vexing woman due to her involvement in the military, her stern nature, and her highly questionable festival activities... Furine is often seen as one of the less idol-like individuals in the military, being quick to brawl, faster to bed, and fastest to drink. Despite the power she holds and the faith her men put into her leadership, she becomes the most aloof during festivities -often the most likely to be talked about in the village, or amidst military peers. In the same way as Molkrath was wary of inciting fear in humans and celestines, Zanzilith knew better than to take up arms against them; he also lacked any semblance of distaste in them, and easily integrated within their community. Whereas Molkrath offered knowledge, Zanzilith gifted the Raphae military with the might of a dragon's wings. Now serving as a model of the Raphae military might, Zanzilith enjoys praise all about the nation, given free reign and his own plot of land in the mountains surrounding Ornuel. Famril Rickoll commands all armies, sects, units, etc of the Raphae military, even overseeing Furine Rogald's command of the Raphae Gauntlet. While technically independent of the military, Zanzilith too answers directly to Famril. Though well into his fifties, Famril characterizes a military man, able to easily duel and defeat the men in his army. Amidst the surrounding world's attempts at holding incredible gatherings of fun and festivities, none can hold a candle to the volcanic inferno of magma that is the Raphae way. It is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, for any race or entity in the world to forgo any fun during the numerous Raphae Festivals that occur throughout the year. Because of their frequency and scope, travelers from outside the nation will more often than not come across a Raphae Festival during their stay, possibly even two, most of which are difficult to ignore or pass by. Custom Trait "A Face Every Mother Loves" - Either the genes flowing through this country are of top notch, or a wellspring of beautifying magic runs through its earth, because damn. The people of Raphae are known for their good looks, generally having faces and physiques that inspire either envy, lust, or admiration in those of other nations. Even to other races, both Man and Celestine of Raphae appear attractive to a greater degree than those outside the country. Custom Flaw "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" - The people of Raphae are generally happy-go-lucky, trustful, and excited to meet new people, especially those coming from outside their lands. Upon first meeting with individuals from another nation, individuals in Raphae tend to look at them with a genuine friendship regardless of appearances, hoping to forge good relations and fun times. This is great for immigrants and refugees, but leaves Raphae at a severe disadvantage when dealing with malevolent countries wishing to work against them. Despite a diplomatic individual from another country being antagonistic, the people of Raphae will initially act warmly to them as best as possible, even to the time when they leave, potentially oblivious to the vulgarities and threats issued to them.
