He could tell this was the Sonic from a timeline other than the one Mephiles is used to, seeing as Sonic has not apparent knowledge of the god known as Solaris. "How ironic...' Mephiles says to himself, ironic that he, one who could manipulates time and space at his will, had been called to fix said time and space where he actually distorts it. However, [i]he[/i] wanted to be the one responsible for the fall of the entire existence of time, not this supposed culprit mocking him. All for the sake of Solaris's return, Mephiles decided to himself to help, but wasn't going to make any promises.
