Reiko, after departing from the girl she had accidentally run into, kept her head down and her feet swift, letting said feet carry her over the campus grounds and towards the dorms. The dorms were the only place she could be alone, save of course for her roommate. Though given the way they had interacted over the day, Reiko doubted that her roommate would be on speaking terms tonight. Or the rest of the year, if Reiko was lucky. Her expression was one of of a mixture between scowl and frown, and the way her teeth clenched behind her lips was indicative of how she was choking back tears. Reiko pushed past students lazily lounging about, socializing, snacking, shirking any potential homework. Some might have paused from their routines to glance towards the swiftly moving short haired second year. Reiko paid them no mind, her eyes just locked on the path her feet were instinctively carrying her. Arriving at the dorms proper, Reiko threw open the doors and quickened her pace until she turned the corner containing the hallway containing her room. She thrust the door open and planted herself, face first, onto her bed. It was only there, in the comfort and secrecy of her pillow, that Reiko allowed herself to let loose the anger and sadness that she was holding back. Fists slammed into the pillow. Bitemarks were left imprinted on the fabric. Stains from tears were drying on the sheet. She lay there, face buried into her pillow, for several minutes, letting everything about the first day pour out. And when that was done, she stayed in her position for a half an hour before reluctantly slipping off the bed, grabbing a change of clothes, and making towards the showers. The shower was quick, but the water was warm. Reiko kept her head pointed downwards, water spilling from her hair down to her feet. She turned the water off and toweled herself. When Reiko left the shower area, she was fully dressed in evening wear. Most students tend to simply put on their underwear or return to their rooms in just a towel, but Reiko wasn't taking any more chances. Returning to her room, she took quick note that Junko was back in the room, clearly in mid thought of her own issues. Reiko offered a very half hearted 'Hello' to her roommate before sliding back into her bed and curling up to sleep. Tuesday went by in a haze. Reiko attended morning classes, though skipped out on gym, and when classes ended she was back in the dorm room. Tuesday's total word count from Reiko was a grand total of three, and it was two hellos, one to Junko and one to her homeroom teacher, and a goodbye to the teacher as Reiko was leaving the classroom for the day. The way Reiko figured it, by not saying anything to anyone, she'd get through the year without any more incidents. Wednesday came and Reiko was again silent in her morning classes. When lunch rolled around, Reiko was eating bread in the classroom when the door slid open and Kawase-senpai stood in the doorway. "Oh, there you are, Ko Ko. Come on, we need your help putting together our fliers for the recruitment drive slash welcome event thing on Saturday and Sunday. Ugh, you're eating school bread? Well hurry up and meet us in the clubroom, alright? Before lunch is over. Tell your pink friend that she came come too if she wants. It was so fun the last time she came." Kawase giggled and shut the door to the classroom. Reiko stood up wordlessly. Suddenly she didn't feel like eating in the classroom. Perhaps out in the quad. Lunch had just started after all, and it was such a bright day. Less chance of a rainy cloud like Kawase to ruin the meal outside. Though one thing Kawase said got Reiko thinking. The school clubs were going to have fliers or booths set up on Friday after class to begin recruitment on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday evening was the welcome/welcome back ceremony, which was really just an excuse for the staff to keep students from leaving campus until the second weekend rolled around. Reiko wondered what other clubs would be doing, what creative little fliers or booths they would put up. It would be interesting to see, since Reiko was going to be in need of a new club to join. But for now, it was lunch.
