Mithias glanced back at the representation of Kilo Point. "Father ordered you to kill humans at Kilo Point?" Mithias scoffed at the irony. "It seems SOLDIER is happy to do all the killing itself. Just trying to bring you down, they wasted scores of their own, hundreds, and even their supplies and buildings. I don't know why he put you in harm's way, but the truth is, we can't afford to lose him. I've learned that SOLDIER's true purpose isn't peace and order between the two species. The Blood Pact is a lie, a facade for the annihilation of all vampires from the world. And yes, I served them." He added with regret. "In clinging to my humanity, I have been blind, used like a fool." He turned away. "Killing the helpless and innocent is still wrong, Martin, but we must fight for our survival. We specifically cannot allow all of our wise and powerful elders to be vanquished, or our race will fall. I am not so human anymore that I don't believe vampires have a reason for being." Mithias nodded over to the nightmare-fuel whale. "SOLDIER doesn't know I am onto them, and with my status as an agent, I believe I can get myself in position to take down that thing from within. I need to live, and I need you to lay low. I may yet have a shot at redemption."
