This isn't my home He lowered his nose to the crisp blanket of snow at his feet, his piercing sky blue eyes scanning the empty white landscape before him. His ears twitched as a bitter wind parted the thick gold pelt on his back, causing an involuntary shiver to pass through the young wolf. He’d been lucky enough to catch a meal the day before in this desolate place, but his hopes of finding one today were slowly slipping away. With a small growl of annoyance he trailed forward, dragging his paws through the inch thick snow and moving further into the wintry land before him with no idea where he was going, he didn't even know where he was or how far he was from the Homeland. He looked back over his shoulder, One of his ears flicking forward as he studied the path he had left in the snow behind him. “Do not look back brother” The voice made him look back in the direction he was going. All he could see of his brother was his crystal blue eyes which were staring at him expectantly. “We can't just abandon it” He replied, padding forward through the snow. “We have no choice, we have lost that battle” Came the response from his brother. “But the war is far from over...” The Homeland...where the grass is always green, the river is always full and the game is always plump and healthy. It’s one of the best territories a wolf can live in, we lived on the steep bits, our forefathers had dug the dens out of the rock many moons before we were born. Being on the steep bits meant we could watch the herds below us, different herds came through the homeland during different seasons they traveled through the valley. The Valley is Home, The Valley was safety The Valley IS OURS![/i] It seems like a distant memory now, we had been driven out, exiled from our home. There is Only one hope now, but its a tough choice to make. A pack not to far from our territory but in a harsh coldland could save all..or annihilate us. Though we are at peace we are not friends.
