These lightning-elemental dragons live in the Thunder Plains, located to the east of the Wyvern Mountain Range. The storm dragons themselves are the cause of the plains getting their name, due to the fact that several storm dragons in one area will cause ceaseless thunderstorms and rain in the area. Their scales are typically darker blues and sometimes even occasionally nearly black. They also usually have a lightning pattern on their scales, which can be anything from white to red to black. Most storm dragons walk with a bipedal stance, all of them have wings, and it is impossible for any of them to have a serpentine body. They are pretty good at using their magic, and their claws are rather sharp and tough, they are also very fast... however, their claws are also very short compared to other dragons, and their scales don't seem to be very good at resisting either magic or physical attacks. They are allied with the Lost Ones, whose swamp provides an interesting variety of the resources that the plains lack, and are at war with the polar dragons, who threaten to freeze the entire planet.

These dragons live in the Frozen Ocean, far to the south of Azure City. The constant snowstorms protect the polar dragons from invaders, and also provide building materials (snow) for their buildings. These dragons scales and fur tend to be a light blue, or even white color, with the rare brown or dark blue usually being ridiculed by the other polar dragons. They typically do not have wings, and instead, often have a layer of fur which aides in their protection against the harsh elements that they live in. This fur does not seem to replace their scales, which still exist underneath the fur. They are quite strong, and well defended against physical assault, but like the magma drakes, they are also quite slow, and are somewhat vulnerable to magic with their fur also being quite flammable. They are allied with the crystal dragons, who often send over their women, as well as several magical items (making mixed-race children common for polar/crystal dragons), and are at war with the storm dragons, whose lightning threatens to melt their homeland.

These strange dragons live in the hostile, swampy area to the north of the Lost Forest known as the Forsaken Swamp. The very air of the place is poisonous enough to keep intruders at bay, and is even used in the lost ones' poisons more often than not. The lost ones are almost always serpentine, however, they also normally lack wings. While they are serpentine, they typically have arms and clawed hands. Their scale colors come in dark greens and black, with their eyes often being either yellow or red. The lost ones are usually very good at using darkness-based magic, and are taught from an early age how to craft poisons and even how to combine their poisons with their magic, however, their claws aren't very tough, and their arms aren't very strong, making them often rely on their average speed to either dodge or cast a spell that combines a sleep poison with damaging shadows, or something similar to succeed. They are at war with the beauty-obsessed crystal dragons, who consider them trash, and are allied with the storm dragons, who often teach them the secrets of lightning magic in exchange for some of the strange plants that grow in the swamp... oddly enough, the Storm Dragons are typically immune, or at least resistant to the poisons of the Forsaken Swamp. The Lost Ones are currently trying to find out why that is, as the Storm Dragons don't appear to be close, or even distant relatives to them.

These dragons live to the south of the Wyvern Mountain Range, in an area known as Radiant City. The city, which is made entirely out of a crystal found in a nearby cave, seems to light up whether it's day or night. Interestingly, the dragons that live there are often covered in these crystals, not from working in the mines, but instead are hatched that way. The crystals are clear on their own, and the 'color' of these crystals is determined by their scale color... which can be every color except for black, white, grey or brown. The Crystal Dragons are an oddity, as nearly 80% of them are female, and they can come in almost any possible form... anything from serpentine to quadra-or-bi-pedal, also often possessing wings. The fact that most of them are female means that most of them are paired off with a polar dragon whose frozen tundra and constant snowstorms don't bother the crystal dragons at all. The crystal dragons' scales (and crystals) practically absorb magical damage, however, they tend to rely on others to actually damage enemies, as they specialize in healing and support magic. They are allied with the polar dragons, whose snowstorm provides some protection to the women that the crystal dragons send to them, and are at war with the mutants that call themselves the Lost Ones.
Okay, what do you think of those as the eight starting races?
