I'd expect, you know, player agency. Choice, effect, roleplaying to determine what happens. Not the GM going "WELL SOMEONE NEEDS TO DIE" and then rolling to see who bites the dust while taking it out of their hands entirely without even allowing a save roll, nevermind that there's no way to determine that it was indeed a proper roll that killed them instead of GM whim. This is awfully forced, even with the option of churning out another bio.
