Hair Color; Chestnut, deep coloration; bordering on black. Eye Color; Green, vibrantly so. Facial Features; Narrow nose, average lips, small ears, sharp facial structure resulting in a somewhat pointed chin, thin brows and almond shaped eyes, high cheek bones, smooth skin. Personality; Opportunistic and curious, Nyrris has spent much of her life learning to haggle and barter; always seeking the best trade off for both parties. She is a quick talker and fast learner that often, despite her nature, holds her tongue in the presence of Lerayissians. Being in Lerayis has hardened her and made her wary of those she encounters, but it is not impossible to make her forget her initial reservations. Nyrris fancies herself a conversationalist and entertainer, as well as a great adventurer. She can be foolhardy, despite her better senses. Clothing; Prefers the loose clothing native to her country, a silken, open-breasted blouse that is often tucked into heavy trousers, bound with a leather belt and laced at the collar with silken string. Since coming to Lerayis, she has abandoned the sandals most frequently used in her homeland for sturdy, but still supple leather traveling shoes; as well as adopting a simple, brown traveling cloak. These clothes are often beige or dark brown in coloration, with the exception of her brightly colored shirts that tend to be hues of blue. A hefty bag hangs from her shoulders, a dull green sack of cloth that has two straps and several sealed pockets. Weapon; Walking Stick Miscellaneous Items; Rations, waterskin, journal, amulet bearing Cibest's visage, a few loose coins, pieces of paper bound with a silken string, a quill and vial of ink, and a bracelet crafted from bone. Magically Talented; Yes Magical Attunement: Cibest Skills; Archery, Linguistics, Stealth. Biography; In the city of thieves, Nyrris Surris was born the daughter of a wealthy transporter of magesilk. While this prestige afforded her comfort, it also demanded she be perceived a certain way; a fact that her father knew well. First, he had Nyrris sent to Varos-Morche with her mother. While in the city she was tutored in the ways of magic by the priestesses of Cibest. Six years, she spent there, until she blossomed into womanhood. It was then that she was sent back to her family. Then groomed as a successor to her father's business, Nyrris spent much of her teenage years on routine trips, by ship, skirting around to the far reaches of Untuilla. She was forbidden to practice her magic aboard the ship, but was given free reign, otherwise, to do as she please with the time; so long as she kept track of the ship's inventory. It was during these days that she learned her father's craft; which she understood as sailing a ship into a port and talking people into letting you sail away with their goods. Though she didn't grasp the finer nuances, for some time, anyway, Nyrris proved herself an apt judge of character and competent ledger-keeper. From time to time, on their travels, her father would gift her with a book or scroll. What began as a simple gift became something of an obsession for the girl, who began becoming deeply involved in scriptures containing information about the Gods and their history. She began to spend her reading and writing, becoming more interested in obscure text referencing the Gods. As such, she came upon two texts describing magical concentrations in Lerayis. One, a manual taken from one of Vigi's sunken ships, described the Dead Cairn. The other, supposedly the diary of an ancient madman, spoke of 'an Eye beneath the Broken Fingers'. It was the second tome that haunted her, a ragged and nigh-illegible thing scrawled in the smallhand of a man consumed with fervor. Within the magins of this battered book were scrawled smaller, more concise notes detailing locations in Lerayis that seemed to have some strange relevance to the ever-mentioned 'Eye'. For a time Nyrris fought against these nagging, gnawing thoughts; serving on her father's ship when able and assisting her mother with the care of her younger, now myriad, younger syblings. It was only upon a visit to Varos-Morche, during their weekly festival to honor the dead, that these thoughts did return. Soon, wanderlust was upon her and the girl set out; abandoning her claim and setting sail to Lerayis...a place known to despise mages and their kind. On her travels Nyrris made fast friends with a Lyhal Nydnia, a Death Touched in the service of Nycyd. The two have been making their way across Lerayis since, their goals (and perhaps fates) seemingly entwined.
EDIT: Added 'Gender' and 'Magical Attunement' to the CS, since I forgot them earlier. Sorry 'bout that. Will have Morben Risaac up sometime later.
