Exactly. Area effects, and nothing too grand. For example, increasing gravity in a ~5m radius so the guys with heavy armor chasing you really get to feel the weight of their equipment, or reducing gravity over a ledge so your group can jump over it. For targeted temporal distortions, it would require uninterrupted focus to maintain them. In a nutshell, the character would have very few direct ways to deal with opposition, one and probably main one would be throwing something at them via telekinesis. Similar to light, but even more indirect, I guess. Counter? Everything that is not affected by gravity or need cosmic level of gravity to be affected, like light/dark/illusion. I don't think gravity would hinder air much either.
