The girl tapped the heel of her boots against Sunny's sides and the Chocobo let out a determined chirp. She dug her feet deep into the ground and ran, kicking up dirt and grass behind her. Everyone was so close, but Riley could have sworn Sunny was ahead by a beak. Lesley began screaming something about greens and his Chocobo picked up the pace. "Hey no bribing!" The girl called out with a laugh. It was beautiful morning and the wind on her face and the laughter of everyone around made it so much better. She leaned forward urging Sunny on when a tiger and wolf suddenly passed them. Riley was caught by surprise and for a moment though they were being attacked by wild animals, she tugged on the reins and Sunny who was caught of guard made a quick turn. The girl realized it was only their guides and tried to take control of the Chocobo once more but Sunny was sprinting fast and soon they found themselves running into a patch of flowers. The Chocobo's foot got caught in a vine and it tripped, sending Riley flying. The girl rolled through the flower bush and eventually crashed into a tree. She let out a yelp as a dull ache spread across her body. The girl found herself stunned by the sudden fall. Sunny let out a concerned kweh and soon the Chocobo was pushing her up into a sitting position. "Haha, I'm alright Sunny!" She hugged the animal by its neck and it yanked her up. She was just in time to see the race end. Lesley continued egging his mount on with the promise of greens and the Chocobo fired up by the encouragement ran past both Ace and Inadi, all the way to the finish line. "Way to go Les!" The girl cheered, cupping both hands around her mouth so Lesley could hear her. Avian and Victoria were all the way at the finish line, talking with Zephy. Eh? When did she get there? "C'mon Sunny!" She hopped onto the Chobo and it trotted all the way to the finish line. She was last, but it didn't matter. Everything had been really fun. She gave Lesley a thumbs up then turned to both Ace and Inadi with a grin. "Looks like none of us win. Pfft, and to think Lesley started last." Riley ruffled the feathers on Sunny's back then turned to look at their guides. "So A and V, this mountain, how far away is it?"
