“Goodbye, babies!” Victoria called out softly and waved at the retreating figures of the white tiger and her husband’s wolf mount. Meanwhile, Avian caught up to Harper and tapped him on the shoulder, an apologetic expression flitting over the guide’s face as soon as the boy turned around. “Congratulations, boy,” The young lady finally turned away from her beloved Illumine and then sidled over to Lesley, giving him her congratulations in a hushed tone and then moving on to the front of the group. “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to answer your question earlier. I was uh, preoccupied,” He smiled ruefully and then jumped on to answer Harper’s inquiry about the dragons. “As a matter of fact, the dragons are one of the nicest creatures here in Nowhere. They’re so friendly that everybody in Aven, the kingdom where I come from, has their own dragon companion. They love playing with children too, so if you go to a nursery you’d see tiny hatchlings snuggling with the toddlers. It’s very adorable, really, and none of us certainly expected that anything like this would happen,” Avian explained. He looked confused and a bit hurt as he tried to make the human understand the impact of the situation. “If you humans have trouble climbing up, tell me. You can grab on to my whip,” Victoria tossed the offer over her shoulder. Unlike her position in front, her husband took step on the rear of the group in case some of the humans tripped, so that he could act as a barrier should they roll down the path. “So, Serenade, do you have a plan? About the humans, I mean. We’ll pipe in best as we can, but our main priority here is to make sure none of them come back to Queen Delirium with less a head, if possible,” The male soldier called out to the black bunny girl as they continued trudging up the path, which kept getting steeper and rougher. ------- Songbird looked up from the building blocks piled up on the corner of the room. Against his better judgment he had allowed himself to be towed away to the nursery where Martini was. Thankfully all the little kids were asleep or else he’d hang himself from the rafters. Kids just loved talking to him for some reason, and he wasn’t in the mood to listen to some yapping. “Nap time. Reminds me of before,” He muttered cryptically, staring at the bundled mounds sleeping in a convoluted mess in the middle of the room. The kids all slept on top of a thick Persian rug, and their different blankets made them look like patchwork.
