Gareck plucked the poster from the large bulletin board placed at the crossroads heading to a earth kingdom town. He had his bow slung around his back with two quivers of arrows attached to his belt. He turned and began down the road. The roads were rarely travelled nowadays, only people seen were fire nation soldiers in patrols. He walked cautiously as his eyes observed everything. He stopped on a small squad of foot soldiers walking towards him.
They spotted him and made no quick advances to him. Gareck waved his hand as they became within shouting distance. The soldier without the helmet, obviously a leader, waved back and stopped short of Gareck. He continued to advance before he stopped.
"Out for another stroll today, eh, Gareck" the leader said as he smiled slightly, "out hunting again? Get anything?"
"Not today, the wildlife out here isn't as vibrant as it used to be. I've probably taken all of them stinkers out that were hiding her," Gareck returned as he watched a large elk jump across the road, "always good to see something out and about. Jumping this way and that. Well, I'll see you back in town."
Gareck departed the soldiers as he marveled at the Elk that jumped away. Glad to see something running around rather than the cursed soldiers. Speaking of which, there hadn't been a good raid in a few days. He looked at the paper in his hands, 'Maybe... I'll join up with them...'
