Little Feather Little Feather had well and truly deflated by now she’d been stood like a lemon in front of the large group for quite a few minutes now, the angry looking boy had completely blanked her as had his female companion. The guys sat on the bench were busily talking, she daren’t go over and disturb them now...She turned away from the group. If Lion was here they may have heard me...then again they would have been more interested in him. She watched her feet as she walked across the grass. Never mind aye, they’ll be other times to talk to people! Maybe when they’re not so busy! Yeah, what was I thinking She took a deep breath and lifted her head, her eyes landing on Kenshi. She instinctively gripped the paper in her hand harder, testing it was still ni her grip. She skipped over to him, a smile on her face. “Kenshi!” She called, landing in front of him. “Glad I found you! You left this in the library” Little Feather explained holding out the paper to him. Crash Lion hummed as he was patted on the head, he flicked his tail looking around curiously as he followed Kathy and Crash his ears moving round in an arc as he walked taking in as much sound as he could, searching for just a hint of where Little Feather had gone. The stress lines on his nose became more prominent as he opened his mouth and begun panting quietly. He pricked his ears towards Kathy, a purr rumbling through his chest at her words his tail wagged behind him. He turned to Crash and gave him a stern look, grumbling at him. Crash looked at Kathy with a raised eyebrow, at the look she gave him he shrugged his shoulders ever so slightly. Crash frowned as he listened to Kathy explain what had happened to the girl, it was indeed strange. He grinned sheepishly at the taps to his shoulder, following her as she set off down the hall. Crash was trying really hard to focus on what he was doing, he’d fallen on his ass so many times today he was a little worried he’d mess up again, thus his facial expression was a picture of concentration as he walked breathing audibly as he moved down the corridors. Looking down at Lion as he grumbled at him. “What? I’m going as fast as I can” He told the lion, poking his tongue out childishly at it when it grumbled at him again. He blinked at Kathy as she looked at him, he still had his tongue out, he retracted it quickly biting his lip as he grinned unable to rub the back of his neck. He shifted the girl in his arms, looking at Kathy on and off as he walked, trying to stay aware of his surroundings and listen intently at the same time. ...I need to stop thinking... his mind had drifted back to the library...He felt a peculiar warmth rinse through his chest as his heartbeat sped up, his fingertips were even tingling...delayed reaction maybe. He'd felt it at the time, but it had happened to fast...Luckily Kathy turned back to speak to him after a few moments pulling him back to the present “OK I’m game for that” He grinned at her. “Why do you need a self-esteem boost?” He asked, frowning momentarily apparently unaware of how direct he was being...yet again. He stood back as she peeked inside, his mind’s eye playing him a picture of kiwi sensing them there and throwing the door open dragging them inside. He involuntarily shivered at the idea and felt an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach as he shifted the girl in his arms a second time, he was starting to feel the strain on his arm muscles now, too much in one day. He looked down the corridor for a moment, noting there was no other doors close by the infirmary. I’d hate to think what happens in there... His eyes drifted back to Kathy as she turned back around opening the door and waving them in excusing herself from entering by mentioning her wounded hand. He didn’t move at first, in his mind’s eye there were still images of Kiwi’s victims and that horribly long needle, his eyes dropped to rest on Kathy’s hand then moved back up to her face. “Y-you want me t-to go in there alone?” Crash stuttered, shaking his head and clearing his throat gathering his thoughts looking down at the girl in his arms with a frown. He edged closer to the door, peering inside cautiously the coast did look clear...but he didn’t trust it. He looked at the nearest empty bed; it was still two steps further into the infirmary than he wanted to go. Lion butted Crash with his head; a deep rumble vibrating through his chest, Crash resisted him though he did take a deep breath. “Promise me, you’ll keep this door open and I’ll do it...bear in mind if I get caught, I am not above dragging you down with me” Crash spoke to Kathy a cheeky smile on his face. Ok for the sake of this poor girl...come on Crash you can do it He looked to be mentally preparing himself before he took a very hesitant step forward his foot passing the threshold of the infirmary, in his mind Kiwi had probably perked up sensing someone enter her domain. He moved swiftly over to the vacant hospital bed, his stomach churning as he carefully laid the blonde haired girl down on the bed, stepping back he turned so he could bolt if he needed to, he looked like a deer stuck in headlights. Maybe I should have written a note...no! That would have been insensitive...still if she doesn’t come straight away it would be plausible... Lion shook his head as he watched Crash stand like a coiled spring just inside the infirmary, he had no idea what was wrong with the red haired man, though the initial amusement had calmed him.
