Milo walked in just behind Mana, after she finished talking to Prof. Oak and got her poke'balls and Poke'dex, he told Oak it was finally time for him to leave. Milo wanted to cry, but he wouldn't not with so many people around. He had been here his whole life, knew Oak like family, and now he had to leave with his Poochy. After their goodbyes Oak gave Milo a little bit of cash since he knew Milo didn't have a penny to his name at the moment.
