Unlike most places in Nowhere, Sol had a sun, and now it was beginning to set. The sky turned a shade of lavender and the air became chilly. The humans continued, huffing and puffing as they ascended. Some found it much easier than others, but the task was a tiresome and energy draining one. Serenade paused for a breather then turned to look at the humans. "Are you all doing alright?" She asked before squinting at the trees and fields below. They were high up now, and the scenery while breathtaking was somewhat alarming as well. If they were to fall from this height, it wouldn't be good. "It's getting dark, we should pick up the pace. I'm sorry about this." She mumbled, back in the human realm they probably didn't climb mountains in search of dragons. Unlike, Avian and Vicky, it was obvious the humans had no training whatsoever. Avian looked a tad more serious than usual and muttered something about how the mountains were dangerous at night. "Wolves," he stated with a frown. Victoria looked amused, they were the best of the best after all. "Pfft, we have powers. Wolves? They're just over-sized puppies." Riley looked weary but she persevered, grabbing onto bigger rocks and hoisting herself up. "I mean we can just burn 'em, right Ace?" Harper was falling behind a little, legs numb and lungs burning. "How much farther?" He wheezed. "Just a few more kilometers, I think, or do Nobodies say stuff like just twenty dragons away." Riley laughed and Harper wondered how she was still able to joke around in such a situation. He didn't reply, he needed as much air as he could get. They trudged on but paused when Serenade stopped dead in her tracks, ears twitching. There was a howl followed by the rapid thumping of several paws on dirt. The nearby bushes rustled and the guides' eyes went wide. "Hurry!" Serenade yelled before motioning for the humans to follow, but before they could even see the threat, a cold gust of air whipped at their faces and several angry snarls echoed across Mt. Nimbus. There was flash of light, a crackle of fire, and a soft green glow. Suddenly, elemental wolves surrounded them.

They weren't just wolves, they didn't even seem like physical creatures. They were ghost-like wisps and momentary flashes of light, nothing more. Avian was yelling for the humans to retreat, something about getting into one of the mountain caves NOW. Serenade whipped out her violin, but a gust of air sent it flying away. The black rabbit yelled, "these aren't just slimes, humans, these creatures...they're way out of your league. Do what they say!" Avian grabbed at his weapons and pointed to a cave not much farther up. However, before he, Vicky, or Serenade could come to the human's rescue vines snaked out of the earth and held their feet in place. "Oh," Riley stared at a momentary flicker of light. The wind began to howl and she held out her hand bringing a fireball to life. "Don't worry! We'll help you!" She yelled as she skipped off a ledge and made her way towards the more even path. "Get back!" Serenade took a step forward only for one of the vines to yank her by the arm and raise her up. The black rabbit cursed and grabbed a pen knife out of its sheathe with her free hand. "We've got this!" Riley assured before looking at the other humans for backup. Harper unsheathed his own sword, the liquid inside his amulet beginning to glow. He had a bad feeling about it. "We should head to the caves," his voice was almost none existent due to the crackle of both fire and lightning. "Let's go now," if Sol's best fighters thought running was the best option then it had to be. The fire mage however attacked and when she did a strong gust of wind whipped at her, there was a sharp sting on her side and before she knew it her legs gave way and she fell back, another gust blowing her off the mountain. Avian and Vicky cut themselves free and ran into the fray, there was so much yelling, and so much chaos. Harper didn't know what he was doing but soon he was scrambling up the mountain with a few of the other humans, some of the others stayed and they were getting yelled at. The ground beneath them opened up and Serenade was yelling at them like crazy to get to the nearest cave. They did, but as soon as they stepped inside the mountain shook and the entrance was sealed shut. Those who remained on the mountain witnessed a blinding flash tear through the sky, a gust of wind unlike any they had felt before swept them off their feet and soon they were tumbling down the mountain and into one of the forests below. Group One - Forest Group Two - Cave There was so much blood. Riley raised a hand to her face and watched numbly as five fingers multiplied into ten. The world was tilting and flashes of color danced across her vision. Funny, there was so much air, but it was getting so much harder to breath. She tried to call out but the only thing that left her mouth was a squeak. The girl turned her head and saw blurry outlines of the others. There was a burning sensation, Riley wondered if this was what dying felt like. She stared at the sky, it was dark...everything was going dark.
