Actually, my RP is doing relatively well with no 'planned' plot line. (Well, it's being planned now. I have a little committee of people in on the whole Heaven VS Hell thing we've got going now.) I think it's better to leave it open ended. Though, I did go in knowing who my own characters villain would be and that there would be an enemy of the school, but as I said, I'll help with that. Also, it's good to let the other RPs have a chance at affecting the plot line. Let their characters have villains and go through struggles and such. It makes the RP so much better.
I see. I am just suggesting to have a clear idea. Not necessarily a planned plot. But, depending on the RP, you cannot simply have a restricted plot line. It becomes everyone's choice on how the plot ends up going. For example, an RP I currently Co-GM in, is about escaping, the plot-line of that we are trying to escape is a restriction, but how we escape is up to us, and the obstacles as well. On the other hand, one of the more open RPs I am in, there was no clear initial plot. Just a bunch of things happening, a plot was revealed later about a war, but I can see the characters having the potential to change the plot into many different ways. Such as rebellion, finding a solution to peace, etc.
Thanks you guys i don't have the time to PM right now Hylian, homeworkbut i'd like to talk about itand thanks for the suggestions, Little_Ninja, i'll do thatand i think i'll just make a new interest check and start from that i'll give you a link as soon as i set it up.
