The Narrator The friendly Voice inside your Head

We write the year 1191 of the lord, it is a time of kings, knights and feudal dispute. The English soldiers and holy knights are fighting against the Muslim heathens in the far away holy lands. This is an age of war, an age of warriors. But only few make it to become a legend.
But what makes a legend? That is to you to decide.
Where you gifted by God at your birth? Did you mold yourself to what you are? Was it an accident? An Experiment? Or just sheer training?
What ever it is, here you are. A legend waiting to be born or maybe you are already known?
In a small tavern in Britannia. After receiving a mysterious Message.
This is your story. Make it worth it.

Long life King Richard I.

In this Rpg we play a group of superheroes in Medieval Times.

Will gladly let everyone join. Questions are encouraged.

whats the magic level in this? 1) a fireball is as common as dried fish and can be cast by anyone 2)roughly 1/3 of the the population can use magic and less than that can use it effectively or 3)Magic is rare and only years of concentration or a supernatural gift from the gods will let you cast a fireball without burning your hand.

This is no high fantasy, honestly it isn't even really low fantasy. Like in normal super hero story's, the whole world is "normal" except the heroes, normal for the middle ages of course. The magic scale on your level is basically number 3, but i am not to fond of an magician in this Rpg throwing around fire like in Skyrim or so on.

Name: Anna Marie ‘The Black Maiden’

Gender: F

Age: 19

Nationality: Native British, both parents Welsh

Appearance:

Powers and/or Abilities: When she touches someone’s skin, she absorbs their life force. In normal humans, this can drain them and end their lives while leaving Anna with their memories. With others with abilities, she is able to not only absorb their abilities but also their memories with the same threat of possibly killing them if she holds on too long. Whomever she touches experiences intense pain as they feel the life being sucked from them.

Personality: Quick witted and known for cracking jokes, when scorned or double crossed, she will not rest until revenge is doled out. Her emotions aren’t a weakness, as far as she sees, since she can never be touched, Anna has resigned herself to a life of loneliness. Her accent can be a little jarring, but she can get her point across.

Personal History: Born in the countryside, Anna’s mother wanted more for her daughter. As she grew, her mother was able to get her into a Lord’s home to follow the women of the house, she began as a helper in the kitchen and ended up being one of the maids for the lady of the house. She enjoyed her time there but three days after her 14th birthday, something horrible happened. Upon bathing the lady of the house, something peculiar occurred. Anna’s bare hand felt as if it were glued to the woman’s shoulder as a stream of memories and energy flooded Anna. By the time she was able to pull her hand away, the woman lay in the bath cold and dead. She had begun life on the run then, realizing through many follies, that her mere touch could kill even the strongest man.

Miscellaneous: Elbow length leather gloves are something she always wears when around others, her clothing covers her completely. She tends to wear dresses with hoods to hide her face, colors usually in earth tones.

Name: Oleg "the Strongest"

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Nationality: Oleg hails from Novgorod, in Rus'.

Appearance: A huge man, at an even seven feet, Oleg has long stringy red hair and a thick beard. With a bulging stomach and doughy face, you might miss his incredibly muscular arms, at your own peril.

Powers and/or Abilities: Oleg is incredibly strong, perhaps even to superhuman levels. Capable of such feats as straightening horseshoes, crushing rocks in his palm, and uprooting oak trees, Oleg compounds this with immense resistance to harm.

Personality: A braggart and showoff, Oleg has committed himself to making sure everyone, EVERYONE, knows that he is the strongest man in the world. He will never turn down any challenge, he will grow surly at the slightest criticism, and he will for sure stop whatever he is doing to give a public exhibition of his strength. Some people just need an audience, and Oleg is one.

Personal History: Oleg's family always knew he was different. Maybe it was because he ate more than his three brothers combined. Maybe it was the time when he was seven and killed a horse by giving it an appreciative pat on the head. At any rate, it wasn't long before he was invited to entertain the Prince himself in the palace of Novgorod at the tender age of twelve. Bending iron bars and defeating five wrestlers for laughing royalty filled Oleg with a sense of purpose. Although he was technically only a jester, Oleg knew for sure that royal favor was only the beginning. Dimly recalling the legends of the bogatyr, Oleg eventually gathered his coin and left home to travel the world and spread his own fame far and wide.

Name: Magnus 'The Undying'

Gender: M

Age: 36

Nationality: Scotland

Appearance:

Powers and/or Abilities: Magnus is an extremely capable warrior, having fought in some form or an other across several kingdoms for almost 20 years now. He knows several languages, understands strategy and tactics, as well as hunt, track, cook, ride and steal. If it can help him stay alive he can do it.
When pressed in battle he can be swamped by a berserker like rage. When possessed by the rage he is stronger, quicker and feels no pain. However he is then unable to distinguish friend from foe, making him a danger to all around him. He tries to refrain from entering this state.

Personality: He's been called a killer, an outlaw and a scourge. Desperate to start again he is keen to give a more altruistic path a try. Magnus thinks he is easygoing, friendly and loyal. However he struggles to contain his darker traits. Not one for handing out second chances, despite looking for one himself.

Personal History: Born in the highlands of Scotland, Magnus was raised by his father to be a crofter. However the north is a dangerous place, so he was also trained to be able to fight. Even from a young age Magnus knew which he prefered. He joined every raid he could as soon as they would take him, desperate to earn a name for himself. The older men ironically called him 'The Undying' as they were sure he was destined for a early grave.
When simple clan infighting held no more attraction for him he left Scotland, travelling to the European mainland. He fought wherever he could find a fight, travelling all the way to the Holy Lands and back. Whatever happened there changed him though as he know claims to want redemption for his past sins.

Miscellaneous: His familly is supposed to possess Fae blood, which may explain his wanderlust and bizarre battle fury.

Name: Sir Philippe de Charney

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Nationality: Of French Descent, but born in the Crusader Kingdoms.

Appearance:

Powers and/or Abilities: Philippe is a very well trained knight, earning glory both in battle and in tournaments. Some say that Philippe can see the immediate future, sensing his opponents moves and tactics. Whether they are grand battle strategies or one on one fighting techniques, Philippe seems to be able to know his opponents moves before they do. Philippe himself has not answered these rumors.

Personality: Philippe was raised on the stories of great knights and glorious battle, but having seen the real thing, he has become disillusioned. He sees the crusades as a fairly and is now fairly atheistic. He may seem cold and depressed, but those who get to know him find a staunch friend and ally.

Personal History: Born in the Crusader Kingdom, Philippe fought along side his father and brothers at the Horns of Hattin, where they were defeated by the army of Saladin. His father and his older brothers died, leaving young Philippe as head of the family estate. He paid Saladin a hefty ransom and he abandoned the Holy Land, returning to France. On the way, he received a mysterious letter, telling him to go to a small tavern in England...

Miscellaneous: Philippe favors the sword of his forefathers, but is comfortable with axe, mace and lance.

Will we be in England? Or the Middle East? I'd be interested in creating a Muslim character but it'll depend on how much the Crusades play into this.

Are you making a character yourself?

And story wise, is the general populace aware of 'heroes' in this? Or will they call us witched and attempt to burn us at the stake?

I am going to make a mentor like character.
And I must admit I haven't really thought about your question, but the fact that the general population might fear and despise the heroes is a very good idea.

I really like that idea as well. Superstitious lot of people back then so it would easy for them to think they were devil spawn or witches.
