I really do like this calendar suggestion though. Thankfully TES has a pretty basic and easily understood system we can . We know the year, just need to agree on the date.

I'll try find a reasonable time.

not with me at least. I like to ask a favor of you guys and see if my people have migratory trees to call upon instead of just the one. I think its important to know if I have an army of giant moving trees at my disposal

Ab'Fahran just shrugged off an arrow to the eye, then pulled it out. The barbs on the arrow would have given Ab'Fahran's tissue so much trauma he likely would have passed out from the pain and/or died. Let's not forget the probability that you could go into shock because you have an arrow in your eye socket, this is all assuming that you didn't just, you know, die because you were shot in the most direct paths to your brain.

Don't worry. There's going to be a little more to it than that. This may sound ridiculous, but at that time he was in such a rage, that his mind did not completely recognise that he had been hit there. Also, people can survive a projectile to the eye, and it wouldn't be shot, an arrow would be loosed or loosened. (Don't mean to be a dick, I was just saying) But, I will continue that, and he is going to be damaged more. :)

Hey Khan, what do you think the current status of Dragonstar should be? It's status hasn't really been mentioned since 3E 432, and it was still divided between Skyrim and Hammerfell.

Thank you, I appreciate the reminder that that is the correct way to say "shooting" an arrow.

Although, that whole rage thing? No. I'm sorry. Please, Gcold, reign me in if you think I'm stepping over the line, but please. Please, for the love of S'rendarr and all that is holy, no one has ever not noticed getting an arrow straight to the head. The only known projectile that goes fast enough for one not to notice being shot or at least minimally impaired is a small caliber round, something along the lines of a .22.

An arrow does not have the velocity to go unnoticed until a friend points out that something is sticking out of your face. I appreciate a bit of realism in the RPs I choose to co-GM in. TES is fantasy, I get it, but even people in fantasy bleed, go into shock and other things characteristic of any multi-celled organism.

Ok, how about some of these ideas?

  • The shot glanced his eyes, causing damage but did not impale itself into his skull. The arrow itself fell out instead of being pulled out.

  • Or perhaps it did not bury fully into his skull, that the arrow merely got into his eye and went no further after that.

  • If you really want an arrow in his skull, if could have it so that he went down temporarily, but later healed(incompletely) by potions and magick.

This kind of situation do happen in real life, but it is VERY rare. Most people (I mean 99%) don't make it, if they do, they are guaranteed to be combat-ineffective.

Here is a link of someone surviving an arrow to his eye socket, it can be quite graphic; not for the faint of heart.

Thank the Doctors that the boy made it out alive and thank the immensely small chance of all of the factors that preceded the boy getting an arrow in the head that it didn't kill him.

But the boy was shot by a modern competition archery style arrow, not a thick-shafted, iron-headed arrow made specifically to kill.

The brain can be hit and you can survive, you can survive without a lot of your brain as long as you have the area around the brain stem, its just very unlikely
I agree with Gcolds suggestions, and I think you would certainly know even them xD Kinda hard not to notice the loss of vision in one eye, even if he some how didn't notice the pain

Recent sources said it was now considered a Hammerfell settlement. Suppose we could still say it is contested if you want. :K\

As for this whole arrow to the eye discussion. (Is TES doomed to have problems with Arrow to the something?) Probably best he was not hit in the eye at all.

What do you mean what about you? You will pay for your crimes in the great war don't you worry.

How you pay, whether in septims, land, or wretched Mer blood, remains to be seen. (don't expect jumping away from the Thalmors shadow somehow buries your sins.)

Nah, you can have it. I didn't realize it was now considered part of Hammerfell. It isn't too important to me, anyway.

im not expecting it to bury my sins only to protect my forests. if I have to id rather pay with septims im simply trying to stay the neutral party but if its choosing sides between people who abandoned us when we needed them most or to take a leap of faith and still be independent with my lands then ill take the choice that requires less bloodshed on my part. is it so hard to believe that the bosmer seek redemption from the great war? we may be elves but we would rather eat queen alanor then to let anyone take over our lands

Yea, that's why you slaughtered the Imperial garrisons and helped kill any Bosmer that disagreed with the actions, right? In the world of politics, there are none who are innocent.

Game of Scrolls.

Seriously, though, one would think in 5 years the Thalmor could have rooted(ehehe) out those dissenters still remaining in Valenwood. By 4e205, Valenwood would have a pretty sweet gig as part of the Dominion. Same with Elsweyr, being a client-state isn't all too bad and the way Khajiiti psychology works would mean that if the Thalmor told them they brought back their precious moons they'd be more than happy to bend knee. Khajiit always put the clan before the individual, it's why the Mane wasn't so much a national leader but more of just some wise guy whose advice they would listen to and give some thought.

It's more people wanted to distance themselves from the Thalmor as quickly as possible due to players knowing their not popular. In the long run, not to wise since it just makes it easier for certain factions to pick them off.
