I enjoy the fact you are leaving it to the players - I think you should step in when someone starts being too OP with their RP, but I trust your judgement in that regard.
That's the current system in play. I'm a reasonable fellow, I will be a fair judge and jury. You have the benefit of me being a decent GM who reads every post in detail and I even go so far as to crack out my note pad to write down things that I need to keep an eye on.
Blizzforums? Do you mean the World of Warcraft Roleplay Forums, back when they were huge? ...Did we roleplay together?Anyway, I'm cool with this staying as it is OR being more gamey. I've played both sorts of games, and there are advantages to each. However, my very favorite game of this sort was a deity game on the Giant in the Playgrounds Forums that was mostly freeform with a few rough "This is what you can do each turn" limits.I'm just waiting before concluding my actions. I already have an idea for how negotiations will go with the NPC nation north of me, and in the same post I'll probably write about emissaries asking to gain passage into the player-owned provinces. But I have to wait, since it feels way too soon for me to do that.
I don't think they were the same thing, Blizzforums was related to Blizzard, but I think it was a fan forum. I used to be Rokdar Ironvein, and I had my hand in many pies (forums), so you may have seen me around. I thought about a turn based system, maybe it'd of been best. I don't know. The way you're doing things is pretty much what I'm used to. I think the best thing to do is to keep it how it is for now. If problems arise from the way the RP functions, then I will act quickly to modify the existing system. This topic is very much live however, so anyone may feel free to keep throwing ideas or concerns at me.
