OOC: Collab with Infin1teZer0 IC: Hidden on the stairs to the main room sat a small figure, unfazed by the silhouettes of the mountains in the golden light. Maho has only been in the guild for a few weeks. It still felt strange to be part of something - she has been on her own for such a long time. But like it or not, her skill¨set didn't exactly allow her to cover a wide variety of the jobs the guild was offered. And slowly but surely, her wallet was getting thin. Sighing, the girl got up from the shadows, shuffling over to the board she has been avoiding for the last hour. None of the jobs really offered much in the first place - the world's distrust in magic was still pretty clear. But it was all she had. Maho figured she would get caught quickly if she went back to her old ways. She needed to lay low, and that meant getting work, and that meant joining someone, because she just couldn't pull any of the bigger ones on her own. Shaking her head, she rose and climbed the stairs to the main room, intending to go have a look at what was on the 'menu'. Just as she crossed the threshold of the room, a bright smile appeared on her face. Maho silently thanked for her acting talent, as with the mood she was in, attracting anyone for a bigger job would have been impossible. To her displeasure, the hall seemed mostly empty. The only other occupants she could see was a blonde who’s looks didn't really help Maho decide whether it was male or female, and hogging her board was someone whom she could best described as a walking corpse. And she hoped her choices would get better as the day advanced. “You’ve been staring at that thing for quite some time,” a voice sounded out from behind Maho, “Are you having trouble choosing a request?” Not waiting for a reply, Astaroth strode past the younger girl and made a beeline for the request board himself, his blue cloak billowing behind him. He would normally have his hood up, but decided against it while indoors, exposing a mess of black hair that looked more akin to an animal’s nest. Hands in his pockets, he contemplated the various jobs on the board. He stood like that for several minutes, until he announced to no one in particular, “I can’t decide either.” Gazing at the request board, Maho almost shrieked as suddenly someone spoke behind her. It appeared though as her little game worked - someone tried to strike a conversation. She cursed herself for not yet learning the names of all the people here - she didn’t think she’d be staying that long when she signed up, and didn’t give it much thought since. Fortune smiled on her though, as it would appear the newcomer was in the same spot as her. Perhaps this wouldn’t be such a disaster as she thought. “That sounds about right.” she commented at her inability to decide. No sense beating around the bush. she thought, gathering some courage. “Do you feel like sharing?” she asked straight away. “I don’t see why not,” Astaroth answered matter-of-factly, his voice an even monotone. He glanced at the request board again, and narrowed it down to two. They could either A, be someone’s bodyguards, or B, hunt down this Jack the Ripper and arrest him. Both seemed appealing to Astaroth, so he forwarded the question to Maho by taking both sheets and holding them next to each other, giving her a nonverbal request for her opinion.
