Annaliese never enjoyed home, if she could it call it that. It never really felt like she was more than a servant, even if she was technically adopted as the Kaufmann's daughter. It felt more like they spirited her away from her other home using wily tricks only to make her an indentured servant. She was only free to do as she pleased at school where she was now. The girl was bored but didn't know what to do after school. It was an easy walk from the school to anywhere in the city but her "parents" had eyes most everywhere. "I'll just mess around on the computers in the computer lab." She said to no one in particular. On her way, she bumped into one of the teachers as the both tried to turn a corner at the same time. It was one of the nice teachers at her school, Klaudia Schultz. "Sorry, Miss Schultz." Annaliese said as she lowered her head to the teacher. "It's fine." The teacher said with pep in her step. "I'm at fault as well." They started to part separate ways when the teacher said something after bending over. "Anna, I think you dropped something. Looks like a brand of phone I've never seen before. Or maybe it's some sort of old video game?" She pondered aloud as she handed it to Annaliese who accepted it out of curiosity. "Until tomorrow." The teacher said as she walked off to wherever she was going. Annaliese looked over the device as she walked into the computer room. With the lights off in the room, the black device blended in quite well. "What is this thing?" She asked herself, looking around the computer room for an open computer. They all looked shut down from the efforts of earlier classes when one suddenly lit up. Anna thought it peculiar. It was one of the computers furthest back in the class as well. As she reached it, it was making static like a TV when it couldn't use a channel. Then, it went white and brighter and brighter until Anna couldn't see...
