But they will claim to have bloody well ended the thing, bleeding the Lords of Westeros until they all wilted away and out of Dorne, back to their homes. Dorne came into the Seven Kingdoms on the promise of marriage, shortly followed by another marriage between Martell and Targaryen to ensure peace. Many Dornish Houses fought in the war, though their losses are fewer than nearly any other belligerent faction in the war. In part for their quick hitting tactics, in part for their success fighting under Baelor.
Name: Prince Nymeros Martell, Prince of Dorne, Lord of Sunspear. Age: 38 Appearance: Personality: The ruling Prince of Dorne is considered by most to be a wise man. Of all the regions in Westeros, Dorne has come out of the Blackfyre Rebellion better off than it went in. Some singers claim in their ballads that it’s the luck of Daenerys Targaryen--though Prince Maron’s sense of opportunism is the more likely the reason. Cautiously optimistic, good natured, and always on guard. A hustler at heart. Biography: Maron was born a dealer. Whether it was bargaining with kitchen servants for occasional (read: daily) unreported sweet cakes, charming women for their affections, collecting bets for steed races, or taking whatever the Black Dragon had to throw at him and dealing death in return upon the field of battle: Prince Maron has always been hard at work with whatever his current goals since his earliest days. It was Maron who set the hard line for a true peace: a Martell in the Royal House, his sister Myriah the member of his House he had in mind. Though some can’t seem to understand why, Maron points to the ‘Dornish influences at Court’ used as a reason for war by some in Westeros: not only was there simply a wedding, but enough of an influence to cause noble houses to beat the war drums. The new King Daeron’s offer of Princess Daenerys to House Martell was a deal that even caught Maron off guard. It wasn’t until he’d married the Princess that the true reason behind the King’s offering Daenerys became obvious: the woman loved a bastard, Daemon Blackfyre. Needless to say the situation led to a strained relationship, one Maron simply avoided by busying himself in preparing for a conflict many were projecting was certainly on the way. Maron and a sizeable Dornish force would fight under Prince Baelor during the Blackfyre Rebellion. Though he was wounded once or twice, Maron avoided serious injury while making a name for himself as a fighter and leader of men. When he returned, he found a wife that no longer shunned him. At first, Daenerys admitted, she’d hoped that Maron would die in the war and King Daemon would make her his Queen. But over time she found herself falling out of love with Daemon, telling Maron it was as if she’d ‘outgrown’ the love of a maiden, and was now ready for the love of a woman, and a wife. That night produced the couple’s only child to date, a girl the couple named Allyria.

Name: Princess Allyria Martell, the Lost Princess. Age: 17 Appearance: Personality: Princess Allyria Martell, much to the dismay of her mother, is so bloody Dornish the common folk have joked of Nymeria reborn; and not just for her fighting skills. Strong willed, cunning, charming, and as lethal as a poisonous sting never seen coming. Much like her father, Allyria is a restless creature that doesn’t seem to ever stop moving for very long. While that meant getting his hand into every honey pot he could find for her father, for Allyria the trait manifests itself most notably in a desire for adventure...the very reason Princess Allyria hasn’t been home to Dorne in many years. Allyria has a taste for ancient and old things. She never talks about her dreams, to anyone. Biography: Allyria’s first memories are happy ones; at the Water Gardens in Dorne, being watched by her mother as she splashed and played with other children, the children of servants before Allyria really even knew what a servant was. While most onlookers (she would say outsiders) would say Allyria was most like her father, it was her mother who educated her, and her mother whose example Allyria would always follow--like not considering servants a lower form of life, that there was a natural common humanity among all men and women. At the age of eight she travelled throughout Dorne with her father, learning the customs and histories and relationships Sunspear had with each of it’s Banners, how the entire system of governance worked. When the two finally returned two years later, Allyria wasn’t home a year until her mother declared she was taking Allyria to see the Free Cities and Essos. It’s rough for a child to learn they were in the middle of a vicious tug-of-war between her mother and her. While her parents had never appeared overly affectionate to her, she’d never before had reason to doubt their love. And if she had seen or heard some hint, Allyria knew she probably wasn’t wise enough to have picked up on it. Distressed, Allyria disappeared from her bed chambers in the middle of the night that night, and wouldn’t be seen for another four nights, until she overheard Sunspear Guardsmen complaining about barely getting any eat or sleep until the Princess was found from the old warehouse she had taken up to hiding in, having spent the past four days getting to know the life of a street orphan in Sunspear--including friendships Allyria would never lose. Upset she was causing yet more troubles, for Watchmen no less, not just for her own parents, a sorrowful Allyria said goodbye to new friends and presented herself to be found. When she returned home, there was no screaming or yelling. Both her mother and her father apologized to her, her father even encouraging the idea of Allyria and her mother visiting the Free Cities. The next week, Princess Daenerys and her daughter left for Essos. They would not return for four years, and it would only be half a year before Princess Allyria persuaded her father to allow her to travel to Oldtown, which turned into traveling to Lannisport, which turned into traveling to King’s Landing, and so on. Just where Princess Allyria has been is hard to say, she travels with a small group and very fast. And as to where she is now? Even harder to say. Only recently, and secretly, has Princess Daenerys sent a message to King’s Landing, informing her family that Allyria was told to go home a year ago, and that the Princess hasn’t been heard from since. Though, according to trusted reports, she has been seen--always here and there, and never for long. Where the Lost Princess, as Dorne’s smallfolk have come to call her, turns up next is anyone’s guess.
