Character Sheet Name:Hasso Aldo Rank: Gefreiter (Private) Age: 22 Gender: Male Description:

Skillset:
- Cross Country skiing -- he got the silver medal in the World Games, though he considers that a bit of a personal failure. He is also an avid downhill ski'er and ski-jumper. He is, as a result, in superb physical form. Hasso is a bit of a pretty boy that takes care of himself. His sport requires incredible endurance, which he has. - Experienced mountaineer and camper. He enjoys the physical challenge of getting out in the wilderness; doing so was one of the reasons he volunteered for the Jägers. - Trained Jäger - That means he survived the PAF's grueling Alpine Warfare training in order to earn the green jacket. It's just that he also doesn't take himself too seriously. He knows the work, though, and his scores on the firing range prove it. - Enjoys motorcycles and fast cars -- he can drive. - University Education: Granted, Hasso did was not as enthusiastic about his studies as he was about the girls, but he managed to pass.
History:
Born to a minor aristocratic family that was given stewardship over the town of Nieder-Wohlen, the Principality had long since dispensed with the nobility as a power through a series of 17th-19th century reforms that left the aristocratic class largely disempowered under the pretext of centralizing authority to better defend against the neighbors, notably the newly unified empire of Holtland, the kingdom/then Republic of Alverre, and the Vaydan Empire/United People's Republic of Vayda. Hasso's family was not the richest, but they were prosperous enough with land and some wealth that was wisely invested by Hasso's father, Hans Aldo, Graf von Nieder-Wohlen. Hasso was not as serious as his father, who experienced enough tough times growing up to and became financially prudent/a good businessman, and was the typical prodigal son -- intelligent, but rebellious. He did not apply himself, except in skiing and other athletic pursuits. He passed through Gymnasium, but not well enough to earn a scholarship, and then went into his mandatory PAF service. His father hoped that service in the Jägers might turn his son into a man the old fashioned way, but was a bit chagrinned that his son came out of the service fundamentally unchanged, and in fact had a few disciplinary marks against him. In the Universitat Luzern, he quickly was found out as a superb skier and was recruited into the Principality's cross-country team; he brought home the silver, but found himself a bit unhappy with the showing -- he sweated blood into that competition and vowed to do better. In the meantime, he took a job selling motorcars to the rich, something that made his father, currently a minister in the Principality Assembly, vaguely annoyed. Better had to wait, however, because he got called up when the Holtish invaded the Alverais and the Vaydan started to rumble on their side of the Holtish border, fearing an even more powerful and land-hungry Holtland. Augstberg is between them.
Psychological Profile:
Hasso is often taken for a dilettante in many things, a rich boy that idles. It'd be more accurate to say that he has authority issues stemming from his relationship with his father. This has come out a couple times during his Jäger service. He was AWOL a couple times, and thus remains a gefreiter; he's never been considered for any sort of promotion. He does have a sarcastic mouth and an eye-lofted skepticism for authority, particularly people that take themselves too seriously. He isn't lazy -- his World Games medal proves that -- but he doesn't respond well to certain sorts of authority. He is not a man that follows blindly and unquestioningly, nor does he tolerate people that expect him to be that way very well.
Equipment:
- G34 rifle. Like most Bergen, his is well kept with the regular application of waffenfett (weapon grease) for long term storage, though he qualifies with it yearly since going into reserve service. He upgraded to a cleaning kit designed for serious hunters, a popular aftermarket accessory for almost anyone that's ever served in the infantry. He has also added a soft leather cheekpiece to the stock, which some regular army types frown upon though it is usually tolerated. - Jäger uniform, though his gloves, boots, underwear and so forth are not issue, but bought on his own money. His undershirt is red and white checked flannel, and very comfortable. Notably, he has a wool mask with holes for the eyes, a slit for the nose and one for the mouth. It's the sort of thing skiers and others exposed to the elements and in danger of frostbite use to ward off the wind. - Web gear, backpacks, kit, etc, etc. His pack, definitely, is not the standard issue -- the militia does not generally care too much so long as it is a standard-issue color.
