The trademark sounds of a tapping keyboard finally stopped as Mana leaned back in the chair, stretching her arms to the ceiling. She had been writing this essay non-stop for the past two hours, and weariness was beginning to settle in. Behind the word document lay several internet tabs, displaying all kinds of information relevant to her work. Stifling a yawn, the teenaged student lazily swiveled her chair from side to side, noticing the the school library seemed strangely empty. There was maybe one or two students way in the back, behind the shelves, and she couldn't see the librarian anywhere. Well, no doubt that her hard work was going to give her top marks, and with it out of the way so early, she could do other things! Like... get more work done early. Hard work was hard. Well, she could afford a quick break, at least. She reached towards the side of the computer, where she had placed a stack of her books, feeling something strange. With a small frown, she grabbed the small object and held it aloft, nudging her glasses as she studied it. A weird, crimson... Tamagochi toy? Who left it there? She hadn't noticed anyone approaching, Was it forgotten? A weird prank? A gift? Well... whatever. It wasn't hers, and Mana didn't want it. Moving to set it aside, the screen suddenly lit up, and before she could question how it turned on, the computer's monitor followed suit. As the light brightened and enveloped her, Mana cried out in surprise, trying to flee, but she disappeared as the light died down.
