Screen Name: WolfsRose
Character you wish to play: Karrus
Race: Human
Faction: none
Background: Karrus was born in the slum districts at the bottom of Coruscant. His father was murdered when he was very young, and his mother became horribly ill some years later. Being from the slums, Karrus had no money to hire a doctor. As he searched for a way to earn the necessary funds, he happened across a pair of bounty hunters. Keeping out of sight, he managed to hear them mention that they would be paid 50,000 credits each for their job. Karrus rushed home and grabbed his father's old blaster. He then snuck into an old warehouse, a known meeting ground for certain shady businesses. Naturally, he was caught rather quickly. As two burly men dragged him outside to be shot, he shouted that he wanted to become a bounty hunter. It elected a roar of laughter from all but one person, who seriously considered Karrus. He stared into the boy's eyes for a full 30 seconds, then he simply said, "Okay." Then he handed Karrus a sheet of flimsi with a name and a face, and "10,000 credits" written on the bottom. The boy's eyes lit up, and he rushed out into the city.
No one ever thought he would actually succeed.
The next day, the men met again. As the meeting proceeded, the doors suddenly slid open, and in walked Karrus, covered in blood, breathing heavily, and very pale. The man who had "hired" him walked slowly over and again looked into Karrus's eyes. After just 15 seconds, he smiled. He pulled out a 10,000 credit chip, handed it to Karrus, and said, "Good job... bounty hunter."
From that day forward, Karrus met with the group regularly, taking minor contracts that slowly grew in infamy. After three years, he finally had enough to fund the operation that would save his mother's rapidly failing health. However, to his eternal sorrow, she died that same night. From then on, Karrus threw himself fully into his bounty hunting career. He has currently been hunting for seven years.
Character Class: Bounty Hunter (freelance)
Items: Twin Energy Pistols, modified DC Sniper Rifle (used only for assassination missions), a holdout blaster, wrist-mounted rocket launcher, vibroknife, light durasteel armor, energy shield, emergency rations, modified A-Wing with R6 unit
Character Personality: Karrus is someone who often takes life far too seriously. His past has made him a hard and often cold man, though he only shows this side of himself while hunting. Outside of the hunt, he keeps himself friendly, but aloof. He never stays in one place for too long, often preferring solitude to the company of others. That said, he does enjoy the company of others on occasion. Karrus puts his quarry above all other priorities, and he will not give up on a hunt so long as his target is still alive. He also holds very strictly to a warrior code of honor, granting respectable targets certain funeral rites after killing them. He currently has no real direction in life, and has been taking more and more risky contracts in the hopes of finding something fulfilling.

There. She had glanced over her shoulder again. Even in this part of the city, no one acted that nervously. Not even a Rodian spice smuggler. Karrus sighed.
So, this is gonna be another one of those
missions, huh? It had taken a full month of tracking down his target's connections, including a particularly nasty firefight at a cantina, to find her delivery route; he had hoped she'd at least put up a fight. Karrus slipped his rifle back onto its magnetic holder on his back and climbed back through the window. Slowly, he made his way outside, merging into the crowd of pedestrians moving through Galactic City.
Right behind his target.
He leaned in close, so that only she would be able to hear him.
"Scream and you're dead."
He saw her tense, but she wisely kept silent.
"Second back alley from here. You try to run, you try to call for help, you do anything other than walk back silently, I'll slap your neck right here."
She acted as though he hadn't even spoken a word, but sure enough, once she arrived at the entrance to the alleyway, she quietly walked right in. Karrus was right behind her. They kept walking for about a minute, until they were far from the bustling streets and crowds. Finally, she stopped and turned around.
"Why have you followed me?" she asked him. She spoke her native tongue, of course, but Karrus knew the language; enough to understand it, at least.
"You know exactly why I'm here," he replied. As he spoke, he drew his blaster. "I'm here to collect."
"Please, if it's money you seek, I-"
"Save it." Karrus hated when they tried to bargain. He fired three times: two in the chest and one in the head. Quick, clean, and painless. Mostly.
Karrus didn't bother with his rites; those he saved for fellow warriors. This woman was a coward, and she had received a coward's death. Instead, he walked back towards the street while activating his helmet's comm system. After a moment, someone spoke.
"Talk."
"It's done," Karrus said. "I'm entirely disappointed, though. She didn't even try to put up a fight."
"What'd you expect, Karrus? She's a Rodian. They may talk big, but put a real gun in their face and they all fall to pieces."
"You know that's not true. She was just a coward, expecting credits and secrets to save her from her hunters."
"Whatever you say, Karrus. Anyway, the fee is being transferred as we speak. And if you're interested, I have another job you might like. A
real job, with
real rewards."
Karrus exited the alleyway, again merging with the bustling crowds around him. "Real how?"
"Real as in
Force Sensitive, pal. I know you love a challenge."
Beneath the visor of his helmet, Karrus smiled. He was eager for a true challenge. "I'm listening."
