[OOC] Ologies: A Study of Arcane Specialists {Paranormal Investigations and more}

@Witch Catbeen reading ic to catch up since I've been busy making Seph’s office, and you're pushing the injections/interupta a bit far. You can't just let coal make attacks and such without reactions from the players. If you did what you said to Jaklo then he'd have a knife on your throat and markiel would be casting a null zone (small bubble that stops spell. Basicaly wizard time out).

All actions besides speech AGAINST a character shoulf be left for reaction by the player. Jaklo is a PC so you can't just assert that much.

I'm also noticing a lack of casting spells youre just doing advanced things like teleportation and phasing just by will something far beyond a 17 year old's studies if they have been split up.

Uhh, thanks for the feed back! Rping with a group as large as this is new to me, so I guess I'll try to ger accustomed to it. I don't really have the time to go over and fix everything right now, so it'd be very great if you'd let this one slip up slide until I can get some me-time to do stuff.
(Also levitation and teleportation was in Coal's spells, and it wasn't like anything grand. Hovering for a few seconds or poofing down the stairs didn't seem that powerful to me, but I'll tone it down next time)

@Witch Cat it is a lot of picking your timing. Either engage with someone or move with the plot. You shouldn't do both unless they are moved with the plot. If the post ended with jaklo downstairs and ended with coals slap it'd be fine. If you want to do a long one like that then contact whoever you are messing with (in this case me) and i could give you the reactions you need.

As for the spells unless its super basic (tiny flame on pointer finger) you need at least a little action. That teleportation should have an action and maybe a word not just poof teleport especially to somewhere you cant see. Levitation i didn't have a problem with but phasing would be more advanced.

Basically remember these arent superpowers they are spells.

Oh hey, just an fyi/update. I'm back, but I've taken to ignoring the OoC because it's really spammy. Every now and then I'll try to sift through to see if anything important is actually posted, but other than that, if you have something relevant directly to me in the OoC, do me a favor and ping me so I don't miss it.

Litterally nothing major has happened. Everyone was talking about the weather around a water cooler and people got introduced.

@R31GN We'll make sure you get anything important that comes out of this. So far the only important thing really covered was vampire mechanics which you don't need to worry about.

Basically all that has happened is all the people have shown up to work and are reacting accordingly to the new arrival of Coal, the witch who looks like he'd fall over in a weak breeze. This was followed by everyone being told to report to Seph's office which will be covered in my next post which will be a lot of exposition for the upcoming events.

@jasonwolfI have a question. Everybody else has special weapons and such, and while Atlas has some nice vampire abilities, they could easily be vanquished by say Arcane Justice. I was just wondering if I could give my knives some minor enchantments, nothing too OP (due to me being a vampire)

@Polyphemus@Austronaut To be fair Jaklo and Coal are both actually that age. Coal had slightly more social experience than Jaklo. Ya gotta remember the kid grew up with a crazy old man teaching him how to cook kelpie stir fry.

Then again in the end Jaklo just doesn't want to end up carrying back a body more than anything. Coal appears terribly unprepared and if nothing else he pities the kid. He pities the fact that something has driven him at 17 to run off and try to join W&R. At the same time he is entirely ready to hold Coal accountable if someone else got hurt.

And to be honest with my slight more control over Markiel and Seph I feel like Coal was allowed in because they saw how desperate he was as well as his potential. There were a hundred ways the kid could go including not making it and going rogue. Seph had hunted down his fair share of mages who used their talents for wrongdoing, but even he's not sure if he could kill a kid.

Yeah I suppose something made by maria would be fine. Maybe knives that steal blood so he has an emergency supply. Doesn't even have to kill then and it can't infect a person, so just a random thought.

Also you've reminded me I really need to list Jaklo's ammo types because I don't want this seeming like Deus Ex Machina stuff.
