Doom.

They told us it was nothing. Just a little spreading of the common cold, nothing serious. Nothing to be scared off-just maintain your personal hygine and you will be fine.

They actually laughed as they said this. They tried to make it seem like nothing.

It wasn't. Two days after this announcement, the deaths started. Those who were supposedly sick with the "common cold" developed fevers so bad they burned up. Your organs can only take so much heat apparently. The deaths were painful. And horrible to watch.

They still said it was nothing, that a vaccine had been developed. Riots started as people tried to get this "vaccine".

There was no vaccine.

Thats when the bombing started. In an attempt to prevent any further spread of this disease, they bombed cities, towns, parks, schools, arcades...it didn't matter to them. They murdered millions for the sake of the greater good.

No where, it seemed, was safe. if you managed to avoid getting the disease, you would most likely be killed in a bomb blast, or get sick of the radiation.you were screwed either way.

Until a select few areas were designated as safe havens. As the world seemed to go to war with itself, people made their way to these havens.

More deaths happened as people fought to survive. The worlds population fell to a fraction of its size, no where escaped the devestating effects of disease.

People settled into the safe havens, expecting a short stay. 85 years passed, with those that had been there first hand mostly dead. Sk e children, now old men and woman, remembered. That was all.

Schools were set up in the safe havens, places to work. People made homes. And never left the safe havens.

Its said in an ancient scroll that few have ever read that when humans destroy themselves, magic shall rise again. Ot so the legand has it. maybe it was just simply that most scientific discoveries were forgotten as time went by, and as those that new how to work them died. Science and magic have never mixed.

Whatever the legend, magic slowly crept back into the world. Some children were born with the ability to access magic.

They were either killed, taken, or taught to hide their abilities. People feared magic.

What these people don't know is that magical creatures have also returned. And want to rage war on the surviving humans. Magic might just save their lives-if the children who have hidden magical abilties can learn how to use it.

Five elderly beings appear on a dark night. They are wind, fire, earth, water and spirit. They contact people with magical abilties, and create a hidden school. will they be able to teach them before time runs out?

For you see, the disease was created by a small group of magical creatures that had survived and stayed hidden for centuries. They have the power to destroy humans. This can not happen.

wind

Wind is a calm soul.

Those that can use wind magic:

Air is the element of the East, connected to the soul and the breath of life. air is associated with various spirits and elemental beings. Entities known as sylphs are typically connected with the air and the wind - these winged creatures are often related to powers of wisdom and intuition. 

Users to generate wind, as well as to manipulate the wind around them at their will. Wind Magic grants them high offensive power, allowing them to assault enemies in different ways: the most prominent aspect of such Magic lies in the ability to give the wind cutting properties, manifesting it in the form of fast-moving air blades which are employed at mid-to-long range they can also generate powerful gusts of wind to inflict blunt damage upon enemies and send them flying away,and even form hurricanes of various scales, 

fire

Fire is a...tempermental soul.

A form of Magic that revolves around the use of fire, allowing the caster to conjure, manipulate, and control the element for various purposes. The caster can change the properties of this Magic such as its "form", allowing it to take shape as a gas or solid element. The color of this Magic can also change, ranging from purple, red, blue and yellow Fire Magic can also work in a similar fashion to explosives. The caster is able to conjure this element from various parts of their body or from the nearby surroundings,though it is possible for weapons to use fire as well.

earth

Earth is a srable soul

The caster makes use of the earth around them for combat, giving the user a great deal of flexibility when using their Magic. Skilled users can manipulate the physical properties of earth, such as making sand as hard as metal, creating iron-hard rock pillars from the ground, or even bending the ground at will and turning it into a liquid form.also enables the user to literally dive into the ground (be it rock, concrete, or metal), using their hands or feet, and tunnel through it.

Like other elemental Magics, some users can also transform their bodies into earth and travel through solid obstacles and the ground itself.

water

Water is a passive soul

Water Magic is a form of Magic revolving around the use of water, which is placed under the user's command for them to employ it for various purposes. Depending on its use, the physical properties of water can be manipulated to the user's advantage; large masses of such liquid are shown to possess remarkable force, being usable to inflict blunt damage upon targets by sweeping them away with water.A similar effect can be achieved using high-pressure currents, which, due to their reduced size, focus the damage on smaller areas. Pressure is also manipulable to a great extent, enough that when it is focused on the outer sides of the water surfaces being controlled, the liquid can become an effective cutting weapon, acting like a real blade.Whirlpools generated on the ground by this Magic, combining rotatory force and slicing power, can easily reduce solid rock to pieces. The user is also able to erect domes of water around foes, in order to knock them out by depriving them of air.

Mages specializing in  can also achieve an extra, extremely versatile avenue of usage for such Magic: turning their own bodies into water at will. Such a peculiar employment allows them to become impervious to both physical and Magical attacks, which merely pass through them without harming them. In addition, the water from the user's body itself can be used as a medium to cast other spells related to this Magic(whereas casters unable to transform their bodies are apparently limited to using the water from the surrounding area), as well as have its properties altered, with the user being capable of making it boil without causing any damage to themselves.While unaffected by most types of offense, however, Mages with a body solely composed of water are still susceptible to freezing, which can immobilize them and inflict damage upon them.

Possibly as a result of the liquid form granted to them, the most experienced users of  can seemingly breathe underwater, at the same time being able to encase oxygen in spheres of water for others to do the same.

spirit

Users are able to use spirit magic, that revolves around channeling, summoning or using the power of spirits to achieve their goals. Users may have to strike a deal with the spirits in order to use their power and to keep using it. The users can summon spirits, use spiritual weapons, or channel a spirit into their body to gain enhancements. They could gain physical enhancements or gain completely new abilities

The user can also channel the spirits of angels and demons but may be corrupted by the latter. The user may also have some degree of control in the spirit world and gain more power from being in it.

You don't have to read the element hiders, its mainly for reference really!

History: suki was born to two perfectly normal parents. She didn't start to show any magical abilities until she was two years old, where upon she set alight the families kitchen table.

Her parents loved her very much, and worked extremely hard at keeping her abilities secret. When she was sixteen, her father was accused of being a wizard. He didn't deny the charges, as one too many events of magic happened around Suki, to protect Suki. He was burned at the stake, a cruel tradition which the disease survives had brought from histories.

Suki has never stopped feeling guilty about this. Her mothers health declined quite quickly, and when Suki was 18, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Suki was left to raise her littler brother, Pakuna. Pakuna had slowly been developing magical powers as well, and Suki was finding it hard to keep both of them hidden from watching eyes. So recieving the letter from the five magicians was a blessing.

History: It started off with imaginary friends at age 3. normal for his age, his parents assumed. but they never went away. being told that what he could see that others couldnt was just his imagination he kept to himself. when his family finally caught on to what was really going on they were ashamed. his two older sisters were quite accepting of him, having figured it out a while ago. the older he got the harder it became to hide, and harder to make up excuses. everything changed when the fire nation attacked...oh wait wrong show. he got a letter from the elementals, thats what happened. And he left behind the ignorant "safe haven," his loving sisters and his ashamed parents for a world in which his destiny awaited him.

History: Johnny grew up an orphan, his brothers were the other children at the orphanage with him, and when he began to manifest his abilities, mainly in the form of having his eyes turning totally white, he saw his brothers turn on him, not many things to do in that particular part of the safe zone, so when somebody comes along with strange eyes and a tendency to occasionally burst into flames, people do the easy thing, they poke fun. Johnny, after taking a good amount of the teasing as his due, and then a little more, eventually started to think that maybe they meant it. But Johnny knew, deep down, that they would do what they did. See eventually the people who take away these kinds of people came to take Johnny away, and His brothers from the eldest to the youngest, formed a wall, albeit an easily penetrable one, so as to give Johnny time to escape. This act of courage and bravery is the only time Johnny, not normally prone to expressions of emotion, can recall that he felt a tear stream down his face. A few years of living on his own, neither thriving nor failing, later he received a strange letter, inviting him to leave the safe haven behind and without a second thought, Johnny did just that, feeling a renewed sense of purpose as he sensed, somehow, that his life was about to take a turn in a whole new direction

History: Eric grew up at the far edge of the safe area, in a heavily forested area. Despite the warnings, his father hunted for his own food, teaching his son in how to do things as well. He taught his son how to shoot a bow with pinpoint accuracy, and how to fight with knives. He also was taught how to use the wind and shadows with the outfit to just completely blend in with the area around him. This all started when he was eight years old. When he was 12, he found a new desperation in him when he knew that the wind was blowing the wrong direction, putting him in some danger. However, something snapped and he just redirected the wind flow. His father did notice this change, and his sons eyes glow blue. But his father did not act scared, he just tried to adjust. But when the letter came, there was no hesitation in sending him off.
Other: he is able to move nearly silently and unseen, shoot a bow with uncanny accuracy( using his ability with wind to help with that ), as well as fight with two knives. He practiced every single day, unrelenting practice.

Histroy: Mathias was born into a poor family and even before his magic revealed itself he struggled. His father was an awful man, who had spent much of his time gambling and drinking rather than attempt to provide for his family, and Mathias had no love for him. His mother however was the best thing in his life, and she constantly told him he would be greater one day. When he was around 13, his powers developed and he assumed this was the sign she had promised him, and she protected his secret without a second thought. It wasn't long before his father decided he could profit off of Mathias' magic and put him to work using his abilities for illegal purposes. Despite this he had managed to keep his abilities a secret and his family was making something money. Unfortunately, his father had continued gambling and owed money to a group of mobsters who came to make an example of him after he couldn't pay, and figured killing Mathias was the way to do this. Tragically His mother took the bullet for him, and he was helpless as held her dying form. In his anguish and rage, his powers unwittingly called forth a demon that killed everyone else in the room including his father, and leaving Mathias the sole survivor. To make matters worse the demon bonded with him in an attempt to corrupt him. A week later while he was on the run he got his letter from the five elementals and decided the school was the best bet at dealing with the demon.
