Overview:
The Virgin is primarily used as a patrol ship around the planet of Fomoria and replaced the old militia/pirate fleet after the Battle of Fomoria. However, much of the crew stayed the same. Built more for speed, scouting and precise attacks than full-on bombardments and chasing, the Virgin is widely regarded as the greatest scout in the small Fomorian fleet and has been credited as one of the biggest rivals to the Fomorian smuggling ring.

The Virgin is approx. 250 foot long and is quite sleek and modern compared to other ships in the battered Fomorian Fleet. The crew of the Virgin were largely pulled from the crew of the old militia that once protected Fomoria from pirates and are one of the most experienced crews in the sector. The Fomorian Fleet is officially a part of the Eosian Navy and is slowly being upgraded, with the Virgin currently one of the "newest" ships (15 years old)

Bio:
Malachy Gallagher was born and bred on the planet of Fomoria, a colony planet far from Eos and one that is currently being pacified by the Eosian Army. For much of its history, Fomoria has been "protected" by a small, unable fleet of the Eosian Navy, which was riddled with corruption and laziness. The small planets protection largely fell to militias and mercenaries, who eventually formed the Fomorian Defence Navy. The FDN was made up of men of all ages and the ships were a mish-mash of civilian and pirate ships. The FDN was very successful in deterring pirates and lasted almost 150 years before being noticed by Eos. The Eosian Naval Command saw this militia as revolutionary in nature and had the leaders executed and the ships scrapped.

Malachy Gallagher, a prominent member of the organisation, was offered a spot in the new Fomorian Fleet but was disappointed when he was relegated to command a small, if modern, corvette. As Fomoria brewed into open revolt and was crushed by the Eosian Naval Command, Malachy became disillusioned with Eos and longed for the days when the FDN protected Fomoria. He secretly aligned himself to a group of Fomorian politicians and naval captains who also felt disillusioned with Eos and was planning a revolution when Vranas went missing with the Nemesis. The Virgin, which had become famous in the Fomorian Fleet for its superior scouting abilities, was offered up to assist in the search of the Nemesis and Malachy reluctantly took up the job, putting all plans of a revolution on hold.

Good question. I've honestly not really decided, mainly because everything I thought of sounded a bit trite compared to space governments from other works in the space opera genre. I like Eos Federation, however, and may use that in my next posts.

As for the Navy, Pepperm1nts is correct: Eosian Naval Command.

Depends on what do you man by that it's already a thing here.
The Federation seems like an interstellar equivalent of the EU rather than a strict one government system since nations like Chaptrap's Fomoria can exist in them.

Fomoria is more of a constituent planet within the Eos Federation or whatever it is. Maybe others have achieved some kind of autonomy but Fomoria is still ruled from Eos while probably sending a few politicians to the central government to voice its own concerns. We shouldn't get too bogged down in fictional, interstellar politics but that's what I'm going with. We can say it's a newer colony or something.

I see.It sounded more like you were an independent state.
Anyways, some clarification on the government system could be nice.
Also Eos Federation is a bit strange since most likely Eos is just the strongest nation within the whole.
Terran Federation or other somewhat more generic names might fit better.
How about Galactic Federation? Sounds mighty pretentious given that humans hardly control much of the Milky Way but that's just how things are.

I am a PMC or at least part of a PMC so I don't think regular navy units can group with me as my subordinates.
Though I do fantastically in fleet engagements. My ship is a strike frigate which makes it okay even patroling alone but at heart its main job is still to intercept incoming threats and defend a fleet.
If I wish to use modern comparison let's call this a Zumwalt-class without its infamous drawbacks.

Oh phooey, I thought you were GM for some reason, haha But I see someone else is commanding the carrier now. Is your ship somewhere in the thread?
I see three sheets in the CS tab; how many aren't there yet? I'm not sure what class of ship I'll go with, but it seemed that most were smaller, like destroyers and frigates.

I think we have around 6 ship profiles or so.
Most of them are in the OOC since only finished profiles are allowed to be in the CS.
Mine is basically a prototype strike frigate (a frigate in the weight class of the destroyer with more offensive focus) which uses warp accelerator cannons as its strongest armament but overall its main purpse is still defense and long range patrol.
