Charles finished the assignment and then watched the other students with a raised brow. wondering why they are all connecting with each other already, with how their being friendly, friendly. He would bring his hand towards his chest "...might want to finish your work before you socialize" he says out with a voice only they can hear for some reason, "otherwise you all might get in trouble again.." he was using magic in order to project his voice to the other students.

Cabal Starts Hunting For A Voice

Cabal spared a glance for Jackal, before returning his attention to Mira.

A fox with nine tails was it? What properties did those tails have, he wondered. Surely there was more to it than that. In any case, he decided not to press the issue, as she already forthcoming enough as it was. He'd research more by himself later.

He was about to reply when a strange, sonorous voice sounded in his ear. He began looking around for who was responsible, and much to his surprise, neither the teacher nor his other classmates reacted. Wait, correction, some of his classmates were reacting. Was that message targeted then somehow?

Suba Thinks The Classroom Is Haunted

Suba gave a beaming smile. "Thank you! Oh, and don't mind the "kyut" thing, that's just how a lot of the trendy girls back home like to pronounce cute when we're feeling playful," she said with a grin, "well, we should get to this seatwork befo-"

She was interrupted by a voice telling her to do exactly what she was going to say, and in surprise she jumped from her chair and looked around, eyes wide.

"Woah, What was that! Is there a ghost in here?!" she exclaimed.

Katherin had always been a fast reader. She it didn't take her long to finish writing the vocabulary words and defintions. Once she was done she looked around the room again. Most of the kids seemed to have paired off. She bite her lip uncertainly. She had come to the school to make friends her own age. Most of the she had met in her travels were old. She had thought this school would be a good away to meet some younger ones. So far she hadn't see another with. She Was ok with that. She mostly just wanted to make friends. Any kind of friend. So far she hadn't had much luck. Maybe it was time for her to try again. She saw that Einar had his head down. She went over to him. She gently touched his hand. "Do you need help?"

Einar whispered to her "Thank you, I... yes... I need" he said embarrassed

"I-I've never learned how to write or read in English. Saving my native language, I have only learned how to talk English thanks to a merchant who used to visit our settlement told me stories about the outside world. i always loved his stories, but couldn't understand very well. Seeing that, he teached me how to speak in english."

He showed her the text he was writing in his language.

"i need to know English to graduate, and be able to travel through the human world, learning."
"Well... I'm also unable to read what other people write for me" he said, showing Mira's note.

Mira looked at the note that Einar gave her and tilted her head in confusion. She had no idea what the language on the piece of paper was or how to understand it. She was about to ask Einar when a voice came across her ears. She looked around and saw that Cabal was the only really reacting to the voice. Until she heard another girl in the class yell something about a ghost. He voice in a semi quiet room kinda scared her and almost made her ears come out from hiding. She shook her head calming herself down, putting her head down and moved on to chapter 3. She glanced over at Einar and saw Katherin talking to him I will have to ask Einar what that language was and what it said. I also need to get to know Cabal more. She thought to herself. She smiled and kept working.

Katherin felt sorry for Einar. She couldn't imagine trying to function in a place where she didn't know the language. From the sounds of it the boy only had the basics. That would make going to school hard for him. She saw a note someone had wrote for him. She didn't read it out of respect for him. She gave him a small smile. "I understand. That would make things challenging for you. I would be glad to help you if you want."

He gave a quick look to Mira, as he took his note.
Hearing another voice near him, he turned his head, It was Katherine.

"I'm very grateful, it would be extremely helpful." Einar said smiling
"I know... its quite an embarrassing situation isn't it?" he laughed to himself

"I'm deeply grateful to you" he said, bowing his head "Could you help me to read this 4 chapters the teacher asked?" he asked smiling nervously.

Einar heard a strange noise, like a voice on his head, but he didn't paid much attention.

Leo was surprised to hear someone project their voice, but not nearly as much as his new friend, who jumped up and proceeded to yell very loudly, surprising Leo to the point that he fell out of his seat for the second time that day. Turning bright red, he tried to climb back on, only to pull it down onto him, making him feel even worse. Finally, he managed to upright it and sit down, hoping that no one had noticed.

He quickly turned a few pages of his book to make it look like he was reading it, and proceeded to turn to Suba.
"I think, if this classroom was haunted, they would have got rid of it already. That, or they are intending to use the ghost as part of this lesson. Either way, there's no need to worry about it.

He then sat back, wondering what sort of lesson would require a ghost.

"There is no reason for you to be embarrassed Einar. You can't help how you were raised. None of us can. I will help you. First why don't you point to the words that you are familiar with. We will start building for there." Katherin suggested. She looked around. She found an extra chair and pulled it up beside him. She was glad he was willing to allow her to help me. She knew it wouldn't necessarily make them friends. But she figured that it was a good start.

"Not many people cared about me in my entire life." He Said with sad eyes.

"You are one of the few persons who did, so thank you very much. If you ever need anything, dont hesitate to call me." Einar Said with a bow.

He Then began pointing a few words that he recognized

"I understand. I'm glad to help." Katherin assured Einar. She knew what it was like to be alone in the world. She was an orphan. She had been passed around the Coven. It wasn't that the older witches had been cruel, well most of them hadn't been. They had just had lives and families of their own. They hadnt had a way to explain her presence in their lives. She had been on the outside looking in her whole life.

Drake had no problem doing his work, save for his classmates talking. And the girls were a bit distracting, too. A kitsune? Like that manwha "Lady Fox"? He'd always been partial to kemonomimi, and kitsune and neko girls were at the top of his list.

He continued his work. Drake knew several languages, namely English, Japanese, Chinese, and French; additionally he knew how to read and understand Spanish, Greek, and Latin, as well as several dead languages. Magic helped quite a bit for that.

Drake heard two of his classmates talking about languages. He spoke up a bit nervously. "If you need help with any other languages, I can help if you'd like," he said. Hr smiled a bit awkwardly.

Einar was glad that someone cared about him, the moment he started showing Katherine the words he recognized, he heard a voice asking him if he wanted help. It was another new student.

"Thank you, I believe we haven't met each other yet. My name is Einar, and... as you can see, I don't know how to write in English." Einar showed the student the text in his native language, embarrassed.

"Katherine has already offered to help me, but I think that it will be a little easier for me to understand if both of you could help me." he said "I know nothing at all about writing or reading in English... In fact, I only know how to speak in English because a merchant that used to come to my settlement in the woods always told me stories about the humans and the outside world, he was the one who teached me."
"No one never cared about me... That is what is like to have... friends? Einar thought, very happy.

"Thanks for everything, old chap. Someday i'll meet you again in the human world, then i'll be the one telling you stories. Einar thought about the merchant

"Thank you very much for caring about me" Einar said with a kind and happy smile.

Mira looked over at Einar, Katherin and the new student. She finished the last of her work. She felt so bad, she had no idea that Einar couldn't read English he spoke it so well. She sigh before looking over to Einar "I am so sorry. I had no idea that you couldn't read English" She said smiling "I am here to help if you need it as well." She turned to the new guy "Hi, I am Mira" She said holding her hand out.

"I can't teach you all that Einar. I can teach you English and a little lation. But that's all I know. It might be better to have him teach you." Katherin told him sadly. Her education was spotty because she had moves around so much. She couldn't offer Einar much. See she wasn't needed anymore she turned and headed back to her desk. What was she going to do? Helping the others with their assignments was out. What else could she offer them?

"I don't want to be alone again." He said looking down.

Looking to mira and the others, Einar said
"It may be a little selfish but... if you all could stay with me..."
"The only thing close to a friend I had was the merchant who used to tell me stories In my home, you are the first persons who ever cared about me."

"And Mira, I think you know, but I wasn't able to read your note... sorry." he said embarrassed.
"Please, if you could all stay with me..." he said with a sad smile.

"I've learned to be a cold person in order to survive... I don't want to need to lock up my feelings again..."

The teacher would look towards the commotion "whats going on here?" she says with a raised brow watching the students. She was letting them socialize as they work as she seen there wasn't any problem with that but the sudden outburst caused her to question what was going on. She prop her chin with her hands with a slight sigh.

I tuned into the smaller kid tell us the dangers of socializing. "hah well you s-" I cut myself off when I saw the teacher approach us. I went quiet, and would catch up onto my reading instantly. These lot probably weren't worth talking too right now, so I worked on my own as I progressed my observations through the assigned reading.

"I'd be willing to help," he said to Einar before taking Mira's hand. His grip was firm but gentle, his palms a bit rough. If one looked closely enough at his skin they could make out the faintest scale pattern under his skin. "I'm Drake. I might be young for my race, but in my years of life I've taken it on myself to learn as much about human culture as possible." When Katsuragi-sensei spoke up, Drake stood up from his seat and spoke quietly, so no one else would hear. "Sensei, Einar's confided in us that he can't read or write in English," he murmured. "Some of us have offered to help, though."

He glanced back at the group. "I apologize for the commotion," he continued. "I understand we're all here to learn the same things, but I believe that if I can help someone in any way, I'm obligated to offer my services." He paused, cocking his head to the side. "I'm sure you can understand the sentiment, Katsuragi-sensei."

Cabal Thinks Einar Is Acting Like A Slave

Cabal looked up from his own page to glance at Einar and the group of people that were helping him, and sighed. Truthfully, he was having difficulty with the coursework as well, but it wasn't as though he was completely in the dark regarding the subject matter, whereas it looked like Einar was going to be entirely dependent on their help as of the moment.

He avoided drawing their attention and let Einar have his moment. It seems that having been starved of affection for this long has made him sensitive to friendly interaction, a thought that trouble Cabal to no end.

He wondered if anyone realized how dangerous Einar's attachment could become, for both him, and the objects of his affection. It was something both tenuous and fragile, and yet in this scant few minutes he had become so totally dependent on it.

He knew how dependent personality disorder looked like; after all, that was the Aswangs main method of keeping their slaves loyal.

On that note, the teacher did not look like she wanted to be here.

"I don't think he needs so many of you for help, though, it feels excessive," he commented offhand, while looking at the questions on the book. Now what did this word mean again? Hmm . . . oh right, it was a synonym for "yes". Maybe.

"Tch."

Suba Drifts Away

Suba cleared her throat, her face as red as Leo's. "Ehem, yeah. Probably not a ghost. Right."

Plopping back into her seat, she scanned the book she was supposed to read. The more she read, the more information she absorbed, and the sudden influx of knowledge led her to Nirvana. Slowly but surely, her mind drifted to a higher plane of existance and realized that, suddenly, incredibly . . . !

"Zzzzz . . . ehehe . . . seaweed . . . snrk . . ."

Her head meeting her desk intimately, Suba dreamed of a land of seaweed and clouds. Her arms were spread out as if trying to hug something large, and drool fell from her mouth in the most elegant manner possible from a royalty of her stature.
