Since its creation, Pokémon has been enjoyed around the world. Players all over have enjoyed exploring the games areas and collecting virtual monsters. The phrase “collect them all” has made many players spend hours trying to find every Pokémon. Only for Game Freak to announce another Pokémon game for players to collect all new Pokémon. For 20 years people have been collecting, trading, and battling with their virtual team of Pokémon.
Now, in 2016, Pokémon has become yet again a global phenomenon thanks to the now mobile game: Pokémon Go! Pokémon trainers young and old now convene around their cities and towns to catch virtual creatures once again. However, players of this new Pokémon game are unaware of what Game Freak is actually doing with this new mobile game. What players of Pokémon don’t know it that Game Freak has been experimenting with a digital world they’ve discovered 25 years ago.
Over the years, they’ve been creating these Pokémon games to help these digital creatures battle against an A.I. program known as The Dark One. This A.I. program has been creating many minions to help it take over the digital world. The players of Pokémon know them as Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic, etc. Game Freak has developed these Pokémon games to help the digital creatures fight back against The Dark One. However, things have gotten worse and now Game Freak needs to do soothing drastic.
Over the course of several months, Pokémon players on Pokémon Go have captures, trained, and battled on their mobile devices. After several months, a select few find a strange item in their backpack in Pokémon Go. The item is called a Digital Ticket. Once selected, a text box appears and asks the player: “Do they wish to use the Digital Ticket?” If selected yes, the player suddenly disappears from the real world and ends up in the digital world of Pokémon. To help the digital creatures fight against The Dark One and become what Game Freak calls: a Pokémon Master.
