Ummm, so... It's a monastery. Darumaka? Are there any of those in/around Mesalon? And... ok. I think you can guess what I'm going to ask. It's a Darumaka, it evolves into Darmanitan, you know what Darmanitan is best known for...

Ok, ok. If there are any Darumaka around, is it possible to get one with its hidden ability? That way, it'll eventually be a Darmanitan with Zen Mode.

@LuckyBlackCat Maybe not in the area itself, but I'm sure one of the monks would be willing to part with a darumaka. As for larvitar...I guess it's possible.

@Heckno12 If she messes up the battle... well, you can guess how she'd react, but it could be a learning curve for her. She'd go into "I HAVE to get better" mode anyway, and the Darumaka could represent that, as Daruma dolls represent, among other things, perseverance.

@LuckyBlackCat There's an idea, it definitely works out in terms of a story arc. My next post will probably involve Detective Hammer on the television in the Pokémon Center. I'm thinking of having Rheese turn the TV off every time he comes up as a bit of a running gag. He really doesn't like the guy.

Yeesh, in terms of symbolism, Darumaka is even more fitting for Sophia than I thought. She seems overconfident, but really she's always pushing herself to live up to high ideals. This whole journey is a test for her. Maybe, eventually, she'll learn to set her own goals instead of trying to meet others' expectations.

He's going to avoid him like the plague. The worst part is that Hammer has so many fans despite being a douche nozzle. I don't really want to spoil too much, but he's going to be one of the reasons everything kicks off.

Just so you know, Sophia is currently in the lobby, not the bedroom. Maybe (depending on where the cafeteria is, whether or not Alex finished what was left of his coffee/made an attempt to clean himself up, and how long it took to find the room), he could have seen her coming back from the cafeteria, walking past the trashed room and looking back into it in dismay? Does that work? That way, neither of us really needs to change anything.

@Heckno12 Cats. Just cats. I once came home to find the contents of a disembowelled cushion all over the living room, thanks to my kitten. It was pretty spectacular. The incident with Sophia's Purrloin is based on that.
