@OtomostheCrazy Yeah, again, Poison often has other helpful typings.

@Heckno12 Ice, another underrated type. That freeze effect... And you have a PM with NPC personality outlines.

@LuckyBlackCat Ice has a major weakness in competitive though, fighting is so common in terms of offensive typings. Weavile is only great because it can outspeed almost anything and has some great offensive power. pair that up with a tanky Pokemon with follow me, and you can destroy just about anything.

Ice is just my favorite, I'm not really singing its praises as a competitive thing.

@Heckno12 Ice is good against the ridiculously popular Dragon types, though.

Hmmm, I was thinking of how underrated Grass types are, and wondering if I should call Cradily for Amber. Grass and Rock cover many of each other's weaknesses, and given her theme, she should have at least one other fossil Pokemon. She only has two called ones right now.

@Heckno12 Yeah, Salandit and its Corrosion ability.

I'd say the worst typing is Bug... most of the time. There are exceptions. (Yanmega, for example. Ancient Power covers Flying and Fire weaknesses, and if it learns a Grass type move, that compensates for its x4 Rock weakness. Also, Speed Boost...) That and Bug is one of the types that has a nice variety of secondary typings - much needed ones, in this case.

Some day, I want to take on the challenge of creating a Bug type trainer character for something who's actually pretty good.

Here's some inspiration, for ya.

@OtomostheCrazy Volcarona's one of the best Bug types. If I create a Bug type trainer for another RP, Larvesta is one of the Pokemon they'll definitely have.

@OtomostheCrazy@LuckyBlackCat My next pokemon trainer is either fire or grass.

@fer1323 Fire's a good one for raw power, but its main problem is defense. I'm having issues figuring out an NPC's Fire-type team for this reason. (She's mainly a coordinator, but she's supposed to be able to hold her own in battles too.)

Yeah, Heckno and I are planning contest-related stuff.

Grass would be a good choice as well. It's tricky, and if you happen to have a Vileplume, then you have an insanely powerful Special attacker.

@LuckyBlackCat Some say the perfect defence is a good offence. There are many other factor one should look at. For example, Arcanine is a good choice due to a verstile move set. Talonflame is good choice. Although Talonflame is below average in other stats, TalonFlame can outspeed most other pokemon. One should try to use the strengths of a pokemon to negate or lessen the blow of weaknesses.

I'm more the type of guy who likes to either annoy or attack, but Cacturne and Vileplume are deceptively strong pokemon

I don't really do solar beam. It's a bit too risky to me.

@fer1323 Yeah, I was considering giving this NPC a Talonflame. She'll also have at least one Fire/Fighting Pokemon to offset the Rock weakness, and as for Water and Ground... These three NPCs all have weather themes (Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Hail) so she's likely to make good use of Sunny Day and Solarbeam.

Of course, if we battle them early on, they won't be using their full teams.

@fer1323 I'm typing up a reply.

Edit: Replied. Don't worry, once the guy's actually able to get to his berries and potions, he'll be able to heal our Pokemon.

@Noxx@fer1323 Just to remind you guys, the encounter with the rufflets there would likely get you all a level for each of your Pokemon.
