As you can imagine, Taunie was a bit surprised that he jumped at the idea of telling her about his dragon step-parent. He seemed to show more emotion compared to the rest of the times she had been speaking to the dragon slayer and the more he talked, the more she found herself interested. Her arms loosened and her body language expressed a more relaxed manner compared to how she had been before.

By the time he expressed his desire not to dwell on his birth parents, she was practically leaning on the window in a casual manner watching him talk. “I don’t like to believe that it’s only blood that makes someone family. Instead I like to think it’s who has a big impact on your life. Galzra obviously had a huge impact in your life and you care about him deeply. That’s family.” Her head rose and fell with a nod. He was probably used to hearing ‘whoa you’re magic’ and ‘how strong are you’ but Taunie, she was different.

“What would be considered a standard day for you? Besides sleeping in until an ungodly hour in the morning.” She said with a small teasing smile. Her elbow propped up against the window and her head rested lightly against her balled up fist as her deep blue eyes watched him closely. “What were your living arrangements like? Did you live in a cave or near a river? This is all new to me so I’m sorry for the questions but talking to Gajeel is like speaking to a brick wall and Natsu doesn’t quite have the capacity to answer questions if they don’t involve fighting or strength.

"Standard day huh?" Ansel mused, wondering what to say. His days weren't that interesting back then. And the other dragonslayers probably had similar stories. "Just your basic life I guess? We travelled a lot, though never crossed the desert. And when we stayed at some place for a month or two Galzra just created a cave for us to live in. We never really visited towns or cities though, which probably doesn't surprise you." Having a dragon suddenly show up at your town would scare the shit out of most people after all. "As for in between travelling. Just training a lot, playing and sightseeing quite often as well." There wasn't much else to say really. Even though he missed Galzra quite a bit he had to admit that life had become more interesting since he started travelling on his own. At first he didn't even know there were more countries past the desert for instance.

Ansel turned his gaze to Taunie, getting just a bit curious himself as well. A strong girl like her surely had an interesting life right? "What about you?" He asked. "How's your life been? And what's every day life like in the guild?"

He sounded like he had a very interesting life. More so than others; but that probably comes with being raised by a dragon. This, this was a concept Taunie could never really understand. Much like the wanderers of Fairy Tail, her story was a bit different and didn’t involve much family.

When he asked about her story, how her life had been and what an everyday life in the guild was life. Her head jerked back in surprise and she pulled herself from the window to sit up straight. “Oh…” She began, her voice sounding a bit sad as she turned her gaze to the window. “Not many of us in Fairy Tail have happy background stories. Most of us made a good life and a good future for ourselves but our pasts aren’t so good. And I’m no different from that.” Her small shoulders rose and fell with a shrug as she turned her blue gaze back to him. “My only sibling died because we were playing with our magic. He was a wood-make wizard and he had created a bridge to get us across his cannon on one of our adventures out in the wilderness. As we were crossing there was a massive earthquake and the bridge gave way. My brother being a lot older than me grabbed me and threw me across the cannon to the other side and I watched him fall to his death.” A shaky sigh left her. “The town’s police were able to recover his body and my parents blamed me for his death and kicked me out. This happened when I was 13 and it wasn’t long before I wondered into Mongolia and found Fairy Tail. I worked in the kitchen for a while before I was able to start taking jobs.”

A shrug rose and fell her shoulders as her mood seemed to change and she began to talk about the guild. “Growing up in the guild was fun though. It was like having a massive and rather obnoxious family. Every day someone had a new story to share, every day someone accomplished something and would share it with the guild. It was always a party or laughter along with a chance to learn things. Every day I’d walk down the road towards the guild hall and wonder ‘what kind of stories await me today’, and ‘what adventures will I get to hear’. The best thing about a guild is that no one ever falls because someone is always there, someone always wants to help and everyone wants everyone else to succeed. We do fight, we do bark and bite at each other but we’re one big annoying family.” A small laugh left her; obviously talking about the guild over her own past was something more enjoyable.

The train pulled to a stop and she rose from her seat, work mode taking over as she pulled out the paper in her pocket. “We can talk more on our way back. For now we’ve got something we need to retrieve. Let’s go.”

After about two hours of walking almost aimlessly through the woods, they came upon a campsite and a wooden building. The whole walk Taunie remained almost silent, an odd trait for her. Her body tensed and her hands were almost shaking. Boy this… this wasn’t going to be good if they were caught. Hopefully this will all work out okay.

They hid inside some bushes near the campsite; some people were coming in and out of the cabin and to the tables marking things on rolled up pieces of paper. “Okay.” She whispered. “We have to make this quick and fast. Here’s the plan. She turned her blue gaze to Valier, “I need you to fly over there as soon as you see an opening and grab as many rolled up pieces you can than come straight back. If you stumble, fall or lose your flight abilities I’ll catch you and pull you to us.” She then turned her gaze to Ansel, “As soon as Valier gets back I need you to incase the site and the cabin in earth than we run back to the train and get on. Everyone ready?”

Taunie's story was quite a sad one. But not something unheard of either. He had heard stories of parents being a bit afraid of their children hurting themselves if they showed aptitude in magic. Not that his life was perfect. As a 17 year old teen, suddenly his father had just disappeared. The dragon he had relied on most of his life was suddenly nowhere to be found. Ansel might have been used to living away from civilisation, but only with his father to watch over him. It wasn't as bad as being the cause of the death of a sibling though.

For the rest of the ride was spent in silence. Though it only took a few more minutes to get to their destination. After that they walked through the forest for what seemed like several hours at least. To the point where Ansel was actually lost, and would have a hard time finding his way back.

However then their target came into view. A small log cabin and a camp site. The man followed Taunie's example and hid in the bushes with her. Then came a quick explanation of what the plan was. It sounded simple enough, if nothing went wrong. But in his experience, there was always a high chance of something going wrong with plans like these. "Sounds a bit boring, but I don't feel up to fighting them head on just yet. Give me a moment though...a wall that big requires a little preparation.

Ansel placed his hands on the ground and started to concentrate. All dragon slayers had some kind of special skill unique to their element. And for him that was the ability to sense the ground in a certain area. Where hard or soft rock was, if there were tunnels, things like that. Galzra was even able to sense any movement on the surface, but Ansel hadn't gotten that far yet. After about 10 seconds he looked up and nodded. "Okay, ready." He spoke, turning his gaze to Valier a moment later. "You can do it buddy. I'll be right over if need be." He reassured his feline friend, whom gave a nod in return. "Of course. Something like this is a simple task." Valier replied, before focusing on the camp site. Then a little bit later, when the least amount of people were outside and the ones that were weren't paying attention, the cat summoned his wings and flew towards the stands with scrolls on them as fast as he could.

A shaky sigh left Taunie as she looked at the campsite. Soon the plan was being put into action and Valier took off towards the scrolls. Holding her breath she watched the cat gather up as many scrolls as he could carry before he started to fly back “HEY!” A voice shouted before something went flying towards the cat.

Moving swiftly, the blonde threw out a chain and grabbed Valier and gave him a strong yank. “NOW!” She shouted to Ansel. The chain vanished from her and she opened her arms, catching the cat and nearly flying backwards herself. She gripped the cat, keeping it close to her as she rolled, protecting it from getting hurt as Ansel created the barricade. “Are you okay?” She asked a bit winded as she loosed her grip on the cat in hopes she didn’t startle him too much.

She let him go before gathering the scrolls from him. “Thank you, thank you so much.” Her voice was soft, caring and grateful. “Let’s go.” She said quickly as the three took off back towards the town.

Soon they were on the train; the blonde was shaking as she pulled open the scrolls. Her blue eyes scanned the papers before she would re-roll one and pick up another. The more she went through the scrolls, the more worried she appeared and the harder she shook. Small gasps left her as she looked through it and simple mutters of ‘no’ echoed around the cart. Her entire body was shaking by the time they reached Mongolia and if he tried to talk to her during the ride, she was in too much of a panic to pay attention.

As soon as the train whistle went off she shoved the scrolls in her hand and jumped to her feet. Her attention finally moved to the dragon slayer and his friend before she gave them a sad look. “Thank you, thank you both for your help. But this isn’t your fight.” She said with a nod. “Here.” Reaching into her pocket she dropped her keys in his hand. “Just… just go to my house and stay there. This…” Her voice dropped and she whispered more to herself than to him, “This isn’t your fight.”

With that she left the train and ran to the nearest ticket booth. “Ticket for E-Train.” She said slamming down a coin on the desk before running away. Overhead a small whistle echoed through the speakers.

Taunie ran as fast as her legs could handle and it wasn’t long before more people joined her in the run on the street, everyone had a guild tattoo and looked very serious, soon there was a flood of people pouring into the guild. The blonde slid through the people and went to the bar, throwing the scrolls onto the bar top. “It’s as we feared, they’re on their way.”

BOOM! The ground shook under the guild’s feet before the people flooded out and stared over the water at a large mechanical machine came towards them through the water. “THEY’RE HERE!” Taunie shots throwing out some chains as everyone around her began to get into fighting stance.

Every guild has enemies but it was never a good idea to attack one another, and now The Naked Mummy group decided to attack Fairy Tail. They may not be the strongest Dark Guild out there by they are problematic. And they brought a lot of gun magic.

The guild, as you expected, jumped into action before the machine could reach the land. However even with Gray using his ice magic, the Naked Mummy members jumped from the warship and came straight to the land. Taunie was no different, joining the battle without giving it a section thought as she squared off with a few of the members. A good amount of the Fairy Tail guild were out on missions so they had a little over a third of their people back. Even the master was gone. After taking out three members by herself and working on a forth a shot was fired and the blonde’s eyes went wide as she screamed out in pain and fell directly onto her back with a thud clutching her shoulder in pain.

Taunie was too focused on the paper she was holding to hold any kind of conversation, so Ansel just occupied himself with the scenery outside of the window. Which is why he didn't notice the concerned expression on her face as she read what was on said paper. Once they arrived the man turned to the woman again, wondering if she was done yet. "So, you able to talk again or--" But before he could finish Taunie stood and hurriedly told him to go to her house. "Wha-? Hey wait! What's going on!" He called after her, but she was already gone. The dragonslayer grumbled a little, pondering for a brief moment about what to do. But Taunie had mentioned a fight, so there really was only one option to go with wasn't there? "Ah damn it..." He muttered, starting to run back towards the guild, as he was sure she'd be going there.

Once there Ansel could hardly believe what was happening in front of him. Some kind of giant robot thing was standing in the water just outside of the guild, and some group using magic was coming out of it, attacking the guild. "The hell is this!" He growled, rushing towards the action without hesitation. And just as he arrived, he saw Taunie getting hit by a magical bullet.

"Are you stupid?!" He yelled as he rushed towards her. "You guys want me to join the guild, yet you didn't even think to ask me?!" He scolded her angrily as he moved himself in front of her. "You really think I'm the kind of guy who'd just sit by and watch while shit like this is happening?!"

The man took a deep breath, turning his focus on the enemies now in front of him. Two of them were coming right at him and Taunie, and it looked like she was unable to defend herself for a little bit. "This is such a pain, but I guess I'll get a little serious for a while..." He grinned as he grabbed the goggles on his head, and put them over his eyes. They weren't some kind of fashion statement. In truth, his own magic affected him a little bit as well. Throwing around large amounts of rock and sand had the nasty side effect of getting sand in your eyes if you got too close. So when he had to fight seriously, he covered his to prevent that.

Once again the man inhaled deeply. "Earth dragon's-" A green magic circle formed in front of his mouth just before he breathed out again. "-Roar!" A storm of rocks and sand shot forth, towards the two oncoming attackers. And as if they were leaves blowing in the wind, both were blown backwards and into the water behind them.

“AAAAHHHH!!!” The blonde screamed from the ground as she gripped her shoulder in pain. Oh man those things shot hard. But she couldn’t give up. Gritting her teeth through the pain she struggled to get herself into the upright position before the gang with the guns began to approach her. Her body tensed and her injured arm attempted to open a magical circle much to the chuckle of the approaching guild members when they realized she was having difficult holding the circle. Ready to accept her oncoming slaughter she closed her eyes.

Are you stupid?! Ran through her ears and her eyes slowly opened to see the back of the dragon slayer she had left in the downtown area. Despite Taunie being someone who lacked emotion, she had never been so happy to get yelled at in her entire life. As he took in a deep breathe, she buried her face into her arm to protect her fital parts before she felt a presence next to her.

Mirajane had arrived and was patching her up quickly muttering something about Gajeel and Natsu being gone. “Don’t worry.” Taunie said climbing to her feet and putting a hand on Mira’s shoulder. “We aren’t lacking a dragon slayer.” With that Mira nodded and took off to help others.

Through the pain the blonde walked to him once he had blown everyone away. “Idiot.” She said giving him a punch in the arm, “Didn’t I tell you to stay at the house? This isn’t your fight.” Everything she said was accompanied by a grin, despite her words; she was glad to see him. “But if you insist come with me I have an idea.”

With that she grabbed him by the hand and pulled him along with her running towards the water which had begun to dethaw. “Gray! I need a slide.” She screamed as she pulled the two of them towards the water. At the last minute, the water turned into ice and it became a slip and slide. “Hold on!” She pulled Ansel into a hug to insure they stayed together on the small path.

As they slid towards the slid she buried her face into his chest. “Thank you.” She said softly, her grip tightened slightly around his waist. “Thank you for coming and helping. It’s not your fight but we can’t do this without you.” Doing her best not to get sentimental as she felt their momentum kick up and they began to fly through the air she let him go and turned, using a chain to grab onto the moving tank and grabbed his arm pulling both of them towards the machine and landing with a thud.

“Uuuuggghhhh.” She said as she rolled as they landed. “Damnit…” She muttered rubbing her bandaged shoulder. This wasn’t exactly the best situation but at least they were there and the only Fairy Tail members to make it to the machine. “Alright.” She said rising to her feet. “Here’s the plan. We destroy the cannon before it can fire. If it fires it will destroy the guild but if we can get it down before that happens we’ll have a much better chance at this fight. This guild may not have many but what they don’t have they make up for in fire power. Specifically this thing.” She said with a nod before she started towards the inside of the machine. “Let’s go.”

Apparently Ansel wasn't even allowed going on a rampage. As Taunie grabbed him and immediately started pulling him towards the large robot that was sitting in the water. "H-hey! Wait! I want to beat these guys over here first! Hey!" But the woman wasn't listening, so all he could do was reluctantly follow along with her.

And before Answel fully understood what was going on they already landed on the machine with a thud. "Ugh! There's better ways to get here you know!" He grumbled, sounding a bit annoyed. He could have made a walkway as well. Granted it wouldn't have been as stable, and it would have taken longer. But at least then they didn't have to make such a rough landing.

Taunie quickly explained the plan as best as she could, but the dragonslayer didn't really get what she meant. "Cannon? How're we going to destroy something like that? This sounds complicated and bothersome..." He spoke, scratching his head as he looked at the barrel that stuck out of the machine. "Tell you what, you lead the way and point me in the right direction, and I'll do the smashing things. Sound good?" Ansel worked best when others just told him to go somewhere and beat someone or destroy something. So right now that job was left with Taunie, willing or not. As if it was up to him he'd probably just break through every wall he encountered to find whatever they were looking for, and get lost in the process.

Luckily Taunie was already taking the lead. So Ansel quickly followed behind. Valier in the mean time decided to stay outside. "You two go! I'll watch the entrance and stop anyone that tries to go after you!" The little cat spoke bravely. Whether his bite was as strong as his bark, though, remained to be seen.

You lead the way and I’ll do the smashing. He said which caused her to smirk. “A true dragon slayer.” She said sounding almost proud of him before her blue gaze looked upward towards the flying cat. A nod rose and fell her head. “Be brave Valier, I’ll bring your friend back.” With that she took off deeper into the machine as it stomped towards the Guild.

“If we can destroy the cannon we’ll have the advantage. They may not be a big guild but their fire power does give them a big upper hand. But with it down and you fighting alongside us… well they don’t stand a chance.” A smirk stayed implanted on her face as they continued their run through the machine. Every now and then when they would come to a cross-point she would stop and look around before making a decision and leading him in one direction.

“The monkey brains aren’t exactly most intelligent and rely mainly on their weapons so I doubt anyone will be here and it’s expected to go off on its own or by a trigger from the main land when the shot is lined up.” As they rounded a corner the sound of a turret echoed. BANG BANG BANG the gun went off and Taunie jumped out of the way. Using her good arm she conjured a chain and yanked it from the wall after throwing the chain around the corner. The gun flew away and smashed against a wall before making a whining noise as it stopped functioning. “Well they were somewhat prepared, I’m surprised.”

With that they pressed onward before coming to the center room and finding the cannon. “Alright,” She said before giving a pained expression and holding her shoulder. “Smash it.”

Taunie started leading the way into the machine. Though there were still traps to deal with. A magical turret was mounted on a wall, and immediately started shooting at them when they went around a corner. Luckily Taunie was quick to take a step back, and use her chains to destroy it. It was a bit surprising that that was the only opposition they encountered though. Anzel had expected that there would be some people defending their main weapon, or that there would at least be several times more traps. Maybe the 'monkey brains' comment wasn't just an insult but an observation. As they didn't look to be too smart with their defences.

Finally they reached the large machine. An enormous sphere with a huge barrel attached to it. The barrel going outside through a hatch. Anzel wondered where the mana came from to fire it, but that didn't matter as long as the cannon itself was destroyed. "Smash it." Taunie told him, at which the man grinned widely. "Finally..." He put his first to the floor as a magic circle appeared below it. "I guess they didn't expect someone with my magic to come along. Putting me in a building made mostly of stone is like putting me in an enormous weapon for me to use!" As he pulled back his first again, the rock below it was pulled along. And out of the magic circle came a huge fist mage of stone, with Anzel's own fist as a base. "Time to wreck this gun!" The man ran towards the turret, dragging the huge fist made of stone with him. Then he jumped up, readying his strike to hit right at the center of the giant sphere. "Earth Dragon's two ton crash!" His father could strike with 15 tons if he was serious. Some day, Anzel wanted to be able to do that too.

The power of a dragon slayer was quite a quite an intense sight. Surrounded by his magic, she could feel him pulling from all angles of the earth even under the water demanding its response, demanding its help and in full control of his abilities. As things began to fly around them and the land particles began to make their way through the air, she brought an arm up and covered her face in a protective manner.

Crash!! The impact shook the machine as he made contact and even Taunie struggled to keep herself from falling over. “Wow!” She yelled as she watched his magic. He was impressive, there was no doubt about that and he was talented but right now there was a lot more that she needed to focus on.

As his destruction continued, the walking machine under their feet began to shake and crumble. From the ceiling feel a large piece giving her a good thump against her arm. “Uuuggghhh….” She cringed under her breathe gritting her teeth in pain. “Stupid… piece of s…” She muttered as she gripped her shoulder in pain. As the machine began to crumble, she called out to him. “Hey! We gotta go before this place falls apart!”

Anzel landed, on the ground again, the fist quickly crumbling into normal rocks. He looked up to see that his attack had been enough, maybe even a bit too much to destroy the cannon. He grinned, though there was no time for celebration. The whole place was shaking now. So he had probably pulled rock towards him from load-bearing spots or something. "Shit...this is bad..." He grumbled, turning towards Taunie. "I know! I have an idea! We can leave through the hole the barrel of the cannon left. You pull us up with a chain, I'll worry about the landing okay?" Valier was still outside. So with any luck he could pick up Taunie as they fell and bring her to the back of the fight. She was bleeding after all, so needed to be bandaged at the very least. And he could just land in the water, get himself out and right into the fight with his magic.

He rushed over, picking up Taunie off the ground, putting her in front of him, and wrapping his arms around her waist. Once she did her thing it was a bit hard to hold on. Her chains had quite a bit of force behind them to say the least. But it was only for a few seconds before he could let go again. "Valier!" He shouted once they were catapulted out of the hole in the wall. "Grab Taunie and get her treated!" There was no answer. But a quick look down towards where they had entered showed that Valier was already on his way. He couldn't fly for long, but bringing one person a hundred of two meters was no problem. And for that short time he could fly, he was pretty damn fast. "Taunie, get yourself bandaged! I'm gonna mess up some bad guys in the mean time!" He called to the woman with a wide grin on his lips. Smashing structures just wasn't any fun, even if it happened a lot just by accident. Fighting actual people was far more interesting, so he was looking forward to having a bit of fun now.

His idea was… something. Something was better than nothing but the sudden arms around her waist caused her face to explode red. Then again with the velocity required to get them moving, he had to hold onto her and tightly. With a beat red face, she pulled herself and him with all her magical strength and launched them from the inside off the ship. It wasn’t long before they found themselves falling towards the water, her magical chains vanishing due to her lack of magic and pain in her shoulder.

This confidence was shocking and she even looked back at him with surprise in her big blue eyes. Could she actually trust him? Well probably… she was sharing a house with him for the time being and while he didn’t seem like one who really cared about many things, the thought of beating up people seemed to be something he enjoyed. Maybe that was a Dragon Slayer thing, a small nod rose and fell her head as she listened to him. “Kick some ass.” She said with a smirk as he let go of her and she was caught by Valier.

The young flying cat took Taunie to the ground where she was dropped. A lot of the guild members had pushed back the remaining group but were focused on treating others. By the time the two had arrived to shore, they fell with exhaustion. Guild members were quick to gather the tired cat and the injured girl before taking them to the nearby recovery tent. As the tent closed, all Taunie could see was a figure emerging form the water, ready to end the battle of Fairy Tail.
