So, uhm, I have a few more questions regarding how exactly moves work and how battles might be conducted here. As this isn't a game, and in a somewhat more realistic setting, I'm unsure exactly how certain moves would work. For example, how exactly would someone use sand attack indoors? Also, teleport in a realistic setting is a seriously more effective. They don't exactly have to jump back to the pokemon center. They could basically use it to completely avoid an attack.
Apologies for the questions, but with everyone saying showdown is the best thing on the planet, I feel as though creative strategies such as using teleport to dodge an attack if possible, or using an offensive move defensively (as mentioned earlier) aren't exactly going to be welcome here. Everyone seems to be taking EVs and IVs and pokemon stats in general quite seriously, when really a lot of the pokemon metagame is pretty broken and doesn't allow for 'weaker' pokemon to really stand out all that much and means there's too many gimmicky strategies involving items or certain move sets.
Ok, so I was going to say this before we started the RP: Showdown is good, but it doesn't allow much for creative freedom, and if creative freedom is what you want the scrap showdown and do what you want.
I'm sand attack. Imagi e the PokΓ©mon bringing in its arms to its chest to create a little blue swirling ball, and it shoots out its arms and the sand is released. As for teleport, I allowed last time to avoid attacks, so I have no problem with it in that sense. As for teleportation to places, I don't want want you teleporting from town to town, let's say the teleportation limit if 100 feet. That allows someone to get somewhere nearby if they need it. If the PokΓ©mon teleports that far, it needs to recharge before it can make a jump that big again.
And about metagame, it's not like everyone is going to go for champion. Some might want to be a coordinator, or a breeder, who ch don't require EV or IV stats, so the 'weaker' PokΓ©mon do t necessarily have to worry about it.
