Karu

approx. 800Female
Unknown. (Although born onryō, her curses may have transformed her into a different kind of youkai, if not an entirely new one.)
At 5'11" ft and 162 lbs, Karu is of a menacingly tall, yet lanky build. Her unusually sharp teeth is a feature prominent in her trademark menacing grins and smug smirks along with an unhinged look from her deep, occasionally glowing eyes, which contrasts with her youthful face.
Her aesthetic senses are a bit of a contrast with her background, typically wearing dresses more fit for an old-fashioned child of wealth that look unusually European, and a red bow to compliment her short, blonde hair with a portion of her bangs sweeping outward to both sides.
(This description is a placeholder. I might sketch up a picture soon.)Karu is typically calm and nice by herself, but on occasion has been described from "slightly off" to "disturbingly nuts". While not (or no longer) the kind to be angered easily, her unusual tendencies have brought difficulty in most attempts to comprehend Karu. Although not exactly shy, Karu has little social initiative.
She also has evident hints of immaturity, such as the obvious sight that is her own fashion sense, an unusual sense of curiosity, a tendency to do odd things with little known explanation, and some occasional odd talks with nonliving things, even with those that aren't even destined to be tsukumogami.
Rumor has it that those who would try to do no good to the umbrella would face some serious consequences of unknown sort.
Bound to Earth: As a result of this curse, Karu is bound to a physical form and given conditional immortality; that is, she cannot fully die until her power has dwindled sufficiently and is deemed safe to be transported to the netherworld.
If she is killed while there is fear still accumulated within her, Karu will return to life on varying times, with at most being a year.
Fear Feeding:Karu's power is dependent on how many people fear her, whether that fear is shown visibly or not.
This ability could fuel her enough to give her highly destructive and possibly apocalyptic powers should this fear extend to millions and millions. However, the hidden curse in this is in when facing braver adversaries, where she is much less effective against since little, or even no fear could be fed upon.
Additionally, having more pent-up fear gives Karu a resistance to damage to some extent; both through simple magical resistance and regenerative ability.
Karu is still unaware of both this and the aforementioned ability.
DestructionKaru is able to conjure up pure destructive energy, which on its own may either traditionally blow/sear things up or, given enough power, violate the law of conservation of matter. With enough fear, this destructive energy is also able to manifest into various natural disasters.
FlightAs of currently, Karu's flight is limited to magically thrusting herself upward to a limited height and gliding down slowly. Of course, this becomes free, limitless flight with greater power, which becomes marked by the appearance of solid black blade-shaped wings with odd red glowing geometrical markings.
Karu has hardly any practical skills, even by fighting, which made her rely on sheer power in combat. She does indeed somehow know many things about youkai (but not even about herself), and she has quite a good talent for drawing-- even from imagination, albeit much of these sketches seem to be a bit surreal, if not outright nightmarish.
While Karu doesn't usually carry anything, she may be usually seen with a worn-and-torn notebook and a pencil, sketching what she likes to.
Much of her living life and the cause for her incarnation as an onryō remains unknown. In fact, Karu, meaning "reap", is a mere moniker, given to her by famine-afflicted farmers who felt that their harvests, their livelihoods, and even their own lives were reaped away from them.
What is known, however, is that Karu's continuous havoc-wreaking and her altered motives for it caused alarm among the gods, who then subtly cast upon her a curse to be bound to the earth and sustain herself on fear without her awareness. Because of this, as her victims grew more and more resilient against her trials, Karu herself eventually weakened and in time, forced to give up and wander around.
Even through the few hundred years Karu spent aimlessly wandering, the town that fell victim to her remained wary of her return, keeping her barely sustained all throughout. The former vengeful spirit fell prey to some hunters, occasionally dying but always returning to continue her exile and, if possible, destroy her hunters. Throughout all the years, she had encountered daring adventurers and, in turn, had unknowingly fed upon the urban legends frightened venturers spread throughout their communities.
Not too recently, as modern technology started its foundations, Karu somehow managed to wander out of the densely forested, uncharted regions of the world, attracted by a strange presence in an otherwise ordinary town.
And as the District became her new home, humans and youkai alike have become somewhat disconcerted by her behavior, occasionally causing concern among some inhabitants.
