[OOC] Pokémon: Start

Oh, my. Three new posts awaiting me as I wake up. Looks like I may need to take a loan of another 24 hours, or at the very least 12 hours before I can post. That is a wonderful feeling. Activity, I love it. Heh.

I'm not entirely sure I want the feature to be quite so extensive in this roleplay. It gives a feeling that the world's already cataloged, what's even the point of bringing a Pokédex here? Sure, in the video-games it's to ensure the player doesn't feel lost when wanting a specific Pokémon, but in the roleplay I don't entirely want to just hand you that information. That's what I have the "known Pokémon per route" thing, for. I like to think Isson as previously unvisited by any kind of Pokédex.

But, of course, asking locals or experienced Isson trainers would show results, intended as the alternative.

... Huh. I just realized, Cathia had an inherent advantage in being alone, if no matter what order her Pokémon were taken out in she'd always have her last two Pokémon at the stage. Following those rules, perhaps Martin should be allowed to send out his other Pokémon right about now?

Eh, Cathia's too pumped up to think of such details, so hah! XD

@Pikmin Eye I'm going to say "unclear" on that point. Cathia has been exchanging her Pokémon freely without consideration for any imaginary trainer-boundaries, like the ones you two have by ensuring you always have one Pokémon out each. You're currently in the midst of heated battle, there is no judge to call you out on it. If you decide to follow the same rules as Cathia, then yeah, you can. I'll keep how Cathia might react to myself, though. Teh-heh.

We do have it established that Teleport can be used on others because Abras teleporting others are a thing in the game, but, heh. @Pikmin Eye Sooo, I will say I’m somewhat boosting Onix’s stats. Because it makes no sense that a 8.8 meter 210 kg rock snake able to travel at 80 km/h has the same attack stat as the half a meter tall bug with claws that it’s currently throwing a rock at. So, had it not been for that, Nincada probably would have-

Wait. Ground resists Rock? … Ground resists Rock. Always have. WHELP. OKAY! NEVER-THEE-MIND, THEN!

@Rune_Alchemist I grabbed “three o’clock” from nowhere, just giving a general thing of where I imagined the clones to be in correlation with the rest. It’s not like he could say “there”. And then, Conkeldurr rolled good on his throw. When it comes to chances to hit, I do roll. Now, of course, I factor in Double Team and the fact he didn’t actually know exactly where to aim… but he rolled that good. So it’s basically a laser-guided piece of rock coming flying. So, um. Yeah. Anyways. Have fun reacting to that.

@Joshua Tamashii You’re free to stop following whenever you like, or start up random conversation, or whatever. If you’d like to keep going but STILL keep random conversation while walking up, we could do those by PMs while still continuing the main adventure, heh. Anyways. Yeah. I left the option of wandering all the way back to Route 3 here, anyways.

@Rune_Alchemist I will defend my choice a bit by saying I do want to make sure the unlikely happens SOMETIMES, and dice allows me to remain unbiased as to when it will happen. Anyways, that aside.

Ah, no, I wasn't trying to attack your decision or anything.

Apologies if it came off as that. I just get filled with an unreasonable amount of salty annoyance whenever dice is used in any method to decide the outcome of something. Just my own personal bias against it is all. I know you've been using it here a lot, but it hasn't really been much of an issue here.

Anyways - slight delay in posting until tomorrow, unfortunately.

I do weight the force of logic over that of dice, of course. I'm happy the inclusion of randomness hasn't been that much of an issue. I'll keep it in mind, though.

Delays are entirely fine. Things happen. Haha.

@Pikmin Eye Yupp. Nice little speech. And yes, Cathia's going to head on, but I'll give a little something, just because. Heh, looking such things up on the Pokédex... Yeah, it's not what I considered, but sure. After all, I consider all other regions explored, and Kalmia had the help of Professor Oak. Of course he knows what the items are used for. Using the Pokédex as your Bulbapedia probably works fine, you just can't check the Isson facts on it yet. Haha. Anyway. Nicely posted.

@PlatinumSkink Wasn't planning on using the Pokedex for where the Pokemon are. Just a list of what they are used on. Using the tools provided are a great starting point on the wild goose chase for the Pokemon. Course, you gave me a King's Rock. The item has two things it can be used on, so it's not like I'm getting an unfair advantage. Still got to bag the Pokemon and train it before evolution. Coming up on my checklist, finding a Slowpoke. Something I was not expecting to go looking for until now
